(Reporter: "Your role is so essential to this film. Was it emotional while you're doing it?")
Wolfhard: "Well Boris is kind of a cold character. He's, he's not that emotional until, you know, this, I'm not gonna spoil it too much, but he has one kind of emotional scene. And he's kind of lived a thousand lives and he's only you know 13, 14 years old so. To kind of play it deadpan was was a really fun thing to do."

You got to be on your A game and I think the great thing is is that this this movie stands on its own and of course would not exist without Donna Tartt, without the book. And and all the things that we all know about and confront in our day to day lives."
15. Medium of Ashleigh Cummings
16. SOUNDBITE (English) Ashleigh Cummings, actress:

And so I had to deal with mortality at a very young age and and to forge a life where I can appreciate and experience beauty and joy within the constructs of mortality and the terrible tragedies that do exist in our world. It's been quite a journey for me and it's something that that Pippa goes through, what a lot of the characters go through. So. I identified with it deeply and that's why I was so drawn to the novel in the first place."

(Reporter: "Did you ask Finn for any 'Stranger Things' secrets?")
Fegley: "No I did not. No I didn't want to be that kind of person."

STORYLINE:
NICOLE KIDMAN, ANSEL ELGORT DRAW CROWDS AT 'GOLDFINCH' TIFF PREMIERE
Hollywood's young stars, including Ansel Elgort and Finn Wolfhard, and A-lister Nicole Kidman brought out the crowds at the Toronto International Film Festival for the premiere of the highly anticipated film "The Goldfinch."
Fans held up signs and magazines for Elgort to sign when he arrived Sunday (September 8) in Toronto for the premiere, alongside Kidman, Sarah Paulson and more.
"I didn't think they were here, they would have so many things for me to sign," 25-year-old Elgort told The Associated Press. "I thought they were all here for Finn. But yeah, it's real nice."
Elgort, who is known for his roles in "Baby Driver" and "The Fault in Our Stars," plays the role of Theo in the adaption of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Donna Tartt.
"His life is going real bad," said Elgort. "And he does need to come to terms with his mother's death. And he does need to find some sort of redemption and reinvention and rebirth."
The 16-year-old Wolfhard, who shot to fame for his role on the Netflix series "Stranger Things," joked that he's dealt with the attention of fans before, but never at a film festival.
"Yeah, I know it's happened before. It just kind of, it's a different thing. I've never been to a film festival before," said Wolfhard.
Also new to TIFF is 14-year-old Oakes Fegley, who plays the younger version of Theo.
"It's gonna be an interesting story and I think a lot of people are going to connect with it," said Fegley. "Especially because Theo comes in two different time periods and people can connect with the show at different parts of his life."
For 26-year-old actress Ashleigh Cummings, she identified with her character Pippa, who survived a bombing at an art museum. Cummings was born in Saudi Arabia to Australian parents and lived there until she was 12.
"I didn't had the direct experience of what Pippa had," Cummings said. "But I did grow up in an environment where bombings and shootings were part of the experience. And so I had to deal with mortality at a very young age and and to forge a life where I can appreciate and experience beauty and joy within the constructs of mortality and the terrible tragedies that do exist in our world."
"The Goldfinch" is set for theatrical release on Sept. 13.
