STORYLINE:
Pope Francis wrapped up his week-long trip to Africa saying goodbye to officials at Antananarivo airport on Tuesday.
Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina accompanied the pope down a red carpet and toward the waiting plane as a choir sung for them.
The pontiff began his journey in Mozambique and has spent six days visiting there, in Madagascar and in Mauritius.
He has addressed issues including poverty, environmental devastation and the problems of corruption.
His flight is expected to land in Rome later Tuesday.
