అమెరికాలో దారుణం జరిగింది. ఒకే కుటుంబానికి చెందిన నలుగురు భారత జాతీయులు ఓ దుండగుడు జరిపిన కాల్పుల్లో మృతి చెందారు. ఈ ఘటన ఒహాయోలోని సిన్సినాటీలో జరిగింది.
'నా భార్య మరో ముగ్గురు నేలపై పడి ఉన్నారు. వారి తల నుంచి రక్తం కారుతోంది. ఎవరూ మాట్లాడటం లేదు' అన్న ప్రాథమిక సమాచారం తమకు అందిందని పోలీసులు వెల్లడించారు. మృతుల్ని 59 ఏళ్ల హకీకత్ సింగ్ పనాగ్, ఆయన భార్య పరమ్జీత్ కౌర్, వారి కుమర్తె శైలిందర్ కౌర్, మరో కుటుంబసభ్యురాలు అమర్జీత్ కౌర్గా గుర్తించారు. స్థానిక కాలమానం ప్రకారం ఆదివారం రాత్రి 9.50 నిమిషాలకు ఘటన జరిగిందని పోలీసులు నిర్ధరించారు.
భోజనాలకు సిద్ధమవుతుండగా...
వారిలో ఒకరు ఆహారాన్ని సిద్ధం చేస్తుండగా దుండగుడి కాల్పులకు బలయ్యారు. స్టవ్పై ఉడుకుతున్న ఆహారాన్ని సంఘటన స్థలంలో గమనించామని పోలీసులు వెల్లడించారు.

ఘటనపై పోలీసులతో సంప్రదింపులు జరుపుతున్నామని ప్రకటించింది భారత దౌత్య కార్యాలయం. మృతుల కుటుంబాలకు సానుభుతి తెలుపుతూ ప్రకటన విడుదల చేసింది.
