"You know that I'm known for glamorous things. So, how do you do it new? So, it's layering - it's different things. It's not about having a gown. You can buy a jacket, you can buy a vest, you can buy a scarf - so it's how you mix it and how you create your own. So, I wanted to create this collection so you can actually make it your own way. You can buy a pant from somebody else, but you can wear my jacket and by doing different things with the different blouses. But, the whole concept is very bohemian and it's about the time - the '70s when Mick Jagger and everybody was going to India - the idea was freedom. The idea was liberty and today politically what is happening. So, it's kind of taking the energy from that."

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Naeem Khan, designer:
"So many people. I mean, I grew up working for Halston. So, the people at that time - Elizabeth Taylor, Liza Minnelli, Katharine Graham, Martha Graham - these were people, it was not just about fashion itself, it's about the energy that they portray and how they taught. Andy Warhol, you know, how they think. He taught me how to draw and even to have these conversations like how to think out of the box, like (inaudible) in India - she's a woman from India, but how she puts herself together, so I mean, all of these amazing muses that I have had - people who have been friends with. It's been amazing."

Messing: "A lot of sequins. I'm wearing as you can see - he made this. He's not a subtle designer."

8. SOUNDBITE (English) Ryan Seacrest, TV and Radio Personality:
"Seventies glamour! I've come to set the tone to find my inner '70's glamour. No, Naeem is so inspiring as an artist, he's a dear friend of mine, and of course, the Oscars are coming up, so I am kind of thinking about what he may be making for those who will be on the carpet for the Oscars too."

10. SOUNDBITE (English) Catriona Gray, Miss Universe:
"This is my first ever New York Fashion Week and it's everything you could ever expect. Especially being from the Philippines - seeing it only in magazines, but now actually being here - seeing the shows, seeing the presentations and also, getting to meet some of the designers backstage, it's amazing because it's really a place where all these creatives come from all over the world and show their best at New York, so yeah, it's amazing."

DEBRA MESSING ATTENDS NAEEM KHAN's GLAMOUROUS '70s SHOW WITH ORIGINAL HALSTON MODELS
Naeem Khan is bringing the '70s glam back to New York Fashion Week.
The veteran designer who is known for his sparkling embroidery and sequin silhouettes, dazzled the fashion week audience with elegant show set to the rock and roll sounds of the 1970s.
And while Khan is no stranger to showing beautiful designs, he explained that creating new collections was all about evolving the concept of "glamour" and keeping it new and fresh.
"It's not about having a gown. You can buy a jacket, you can buy a vest, you can buy a scarf - so it's how you mix it and how you create your own," Khan said before explaining the inspiration for his Fall Winter collection. "The whole concept is very bohemian and it's about the time - the '70s when Mick Jagger and everybody was going to India - the idea was freedom. The idea was liberty and today politically what is happening. So, it's kind of taking the energy from that."
"Will and Grace" star Debra Messing confessed she can't get enough of Khan's clothing.
"I have been a fan of Naeem Khan's designs for years and years," Messing, who sat in Khan's front row, said. "I had the glorious privilege of wearing his design to the Golden Globes this year, and I am just so excited to be able to see his collection because everything he does is always just glamour."
Even "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest said he was wowed by his good friends' designs and was hoping to catch a glimpse of what maybe be on the upcoming Oscars red carpet.
"Naeem is so inspiring as an artist, he's a dear friend of mine, and of course, the Oscars are coming up, so I am kind of thinking about what he may be making for those who will be on the carpet for the Oscars too," Seacrest said.
Khan's sleek and funky collection featured glamorous evening gowns with head-to-toe embellishments, velvet and full-on sequined pant suits, ornately pattered kimono-inspired blouses, robes and flowy sheaths, fun and flirty, feathered cocktail minis and jackets paired with glittering tops and unique neckties.
The models sported big, voluminous '70s waves as they rocked the runway to the tunes of Pink Floyd and Queen.
Prior to the show's finale, Khan surprised his audience with his original fashion muses, the women of Halston.
The iconic Halston models Pat Cleveland, Karen Bjornson and Alva Chinn, closed the show clad in silver, sequined Khan evening gowns. Khan then joined his muses for a finale walk down the runway before the show's end.
