మోదీ... భాజపా దగ్గరున్న జనాకర్షక మంత్రం. యడ్యూరప్ప... కర్ణాటకలో కమలదళ సారథి. మోదీ మంత్రం, యడ్యూరప్ప నాయకత్వం కలిస్తేనే విజయం. ఆ రాష్ట్రంలో మోదీకి ఆదరణ విషయంలో ఎలాంటి సమస్య లేదు. ఇబ్బందంతా యడ్యూరప్పతోనే. ఎందుకలా?

"భాజపాకు 300 స్థానాలు".... ఇటీవల బాగా వినిపిస్తున్న మాట. 2014లో భాజపాకు వచ్చిన సీట్లు 282. ఈ ఎన్నికల్లో అంతకన్నా ఎక్కువ సీట్లు వస్తాయన్న కమలనాథుల ధీమా వెనుక కారణం ఏంటి? అధికార పార్టీ ప్రచారాస్త్రం ఏంటి? సమాధానం ఒకటే... మోదీ. విపక్షాల ప్రధాన విమర్శనాస్త్రమూ మోదీనే కావడం మరో విశేషం.

దక్షిణాదిన భాజపా కాస్త మెరుగైన స్థితిలో ఉంది కర్ణాటకలోనే. ఇటీవల శాసనసభ ఎన్నికల్లో అత్యధిక సీట్లు సాధించిన పార్టీగా నిలిచినా... ఎన్నికల అనంతర పొత్తుల ఆటలో వెనుకబడింది. ప్రతిపక్షానికే పరిమితమైంది. ఇప్పుడు మరోమారు సత్తా చాటేందుకు భాజపాకు అవకాశం వచ్చింది. అందుకే మోదీ మంత్రమే ప్రధానాంశంగా ప్రచార క్షేత్రంలోకి దిగింది.

కర్ణాటకలో మొత్తం 28 లోక్సభ నియోజకవర్గాలు. 2014లో 17 సీట్లు దక్కించుకుంది భాజపా. ఈసారి కమలదళం లక్ష్యం 22.
కర్ణాటకలో భాజపాకు మోదీయే బలం. అయినా... ఈసారి కమలదళం లక్ష్యం నెరవేరదని రాజకీయ విశ్లేషకుల అంచనా. 2014లో వచ్చినన్ని స్థానాలూ రాకపోవచ్చన్నది వారి అనుమానం.

Attenborough: "Oh, I think in its, in its worldwide scope; that it surveys the entire world and looks at each eco-system in, in considerable depth across both plants and animals, so they're shown as a coherent working unit.
(Reporter: "And you're using this amazing 4K camera technology. What difference will the viewers see?")
Fothergill: "Well 4K is... I mean, it's not just 4K. To be boringly technical, it's also HDR - high dynamic range - and you know, it's breathtaking. This very morning I was grading one of the shows and I, I remember it made a series called 'Planet Earth,' which is the first series the BBC ever did in high definition. And at that time, I thought, 'I've just pulled a sock off my head.' It was so amazing and it's beautiful. And actually one of the amazing things about Netflix is that you can actually stream 4K HDR, and many broadcasters can't do that. So just boring technical stuff but if you've got a 4K HDR TV, I promise you it is exquisite."

Attenborough: "The WWF (The World Wide Fund for Nature) has a worldwide view of the ecosystems of the world and they have representatives throughout the world with their fingers on the pulse of what is happening so that you have enormous expertise. They will not only tell you what is, what is going right and what is going wrong, but I also tell you how to get there, so that we've got a, an extraordinary broad scientific base."
Fothergill: "The other really important contribution they're making is that to the whole sort of 'Our Planet' communication initiative is that the TV series is the heart of a much wider communication initiative and they're working with us to provide an extraordinary amount of online content. So for every sequence you see in the series, there's lots of other online material: people fighting to preserve that animal, stories, statistics, because we really want it to become sort of go-to state of the planet education initiative for many, many years and actually, one of the joys about Netflix is it will be on Netflix for many, many years. You know, it doesn't just get broadcast and disappear - it's got longevity."

Fothergill: "I think that you cannot ignore the fact that the cameramen and camerawomen that work on our series are extraordinary. I mean, they are technicians, masters of their craft, but the patience and endurance is extraordinary. Just to give you one example: there are some amazing images of Siberian tigers. There are only 600 left in the wild and I think these are the first really intimate images. And we had two cameramen locked away in special - they can't be in soft hides, these were... because the tigers might eat them - so these are really tough wooden hides. We locked them into those hides for six weeks, so they ate and did everything else one needs to do in a hide for six weeks. Neither of them got a frame of footage and, and... however, we did have 40 motion-controlled remote cameras for two years in position and they got about 10 exquisite shots. So the remote, remote-controlled cameras worked very hard at least!"
(Reporter: "Do you miss that sort of face-to-face contact with mountain gorillas?")
Attenborough: "Yes, I'm, I, I, I must be a realist. I couldn't actually walk up to the mountain gorillas now. I mean, walking up to mountain gorillas was a very arduous business and at ninety-two, not a lot of ninety-two-year-olds could do it. I, I, I couldn't do it. I, I am fortunate enough to be taken to, because of helicopters and one thing and another, you can get to an awful lot of these things and I do go to quite a lot of them but in this instance my, my job is, is the words."

Fothergill: "I think there are a load, actually. I mean, as always, we go for new behavior. I mean, for me there's a very special moment where... When we started on 'Blue Planet,' we were desperate to film blue whales in the wild and that was a major challenge. It's an extraordinary fact that the largest animal that ever lived on our planet remains extraordinarily elusive. We only know two places on the planet where they come to give birth and for the very first time, we've got these wonderfully intimate images of a mother blue whale and her newborn calf filmed from a drone, where the whales are not in any way worried by the noise of the drone and that was very, very special. But we've also got some very, very powerful environmental moments, conservation moments, and the one that I think stands out - there are many I think that stand out, but one particular is the extraordinary spectacle of a hundred thousand walrus - animals that live their whole lives on the ice, which for, have just in recent years been coming to land as a refuge, and the spectacle of a hundred thousand of them pulled out on a single beach is, is, it's heart rending actually, and actually, that is global warming happening in front of your very eyes."
Attenborough: "The sequence that I think probably affected me as much as any was in the same sort of area, but it was a, it's a glacier up in Alaska..."
Fothergill: "... in Greenland."
Attenborough: "Greenland, which is collapsing."
Fothergill: "This is the fastest carving glacier in the world. It's advancing about 45 meters a week and, yeah, it's, it's twice as fast as it was 10 years ago."
Attenborough: "Thousands of tons of ice just collapsed like a scene of a skyscraper suddenly collapsing and going in. And actually the consequences of filming that as Alistair says, if you're going to... if a, if a skyscraper collapse(s), the gale that's produced in, in, atmospherically is huge and very, very dangerous. And if you were in it, had you been in a boat or a rubber boat or one of those simple float boats, you would have been a goner."
Fothergill: "You would have drowned immediately, yeah. The, the, the camera was actually with a, on a helicopter, stabilized helicopter, and they were on the edge of the glacier looking down and the whole front face of the glacier went down and that was fine. What they hadn't expected was that it would hit the water and then come right up and they had great blocks of ice the size of a TV coming up either side of the helicopter which - that certainly wasn't on the safety form, so... But it's a very dramatic image and again, if you want to see global warming in action, that's, that's the place to film it."

NEW ATTENBOROUGH SERIES SHOWCASES FRAGILE HABITATS, ENDANGERED SPECIES
Naturalist Sir David Attenborough provides the narration for an ambitious new documentary series from Netflix, "Our Planet," which showcases the wonders of the world at a critical time when global action is needed to protect it.
The eight-part series took four years to make and was filmed on every continent in over fifty countries. The 600 members of the production crew - including leading wildlife cinematographers, researchers and scientists - spent 3,500 days in the field.
Camera crew spent six or seven weeks at a time in the field using 4K camera technology, aiming to produce two to three minutes of edited footage.
The episodes focus on the remarkable diversity of habitats around the world, from the remote Arctic wilderness and mysterious deep oceans to the vast landscapes of Africa and diverse jungles of South America.
Each episode features a key habitat, including rainforest, the oceans - shallow and deep - with an introductory program that looks at the connections between all the habitats and why those connections are vital to the health of the planet.
In addition to Sir David Attenborough, the series features local narrators in ten languages, including Spanish-language narrators Penelope Cruz for Spain and Salma Hayek for Latin America.
Viewers will discover the steps that need to be taken to protect the natural world, said Attenborough.
"The sequence that I think probably affected me as much as any was... a glacier up in Greenland, which is collapsing," said the 92-year-old broadcaster and natural historian, who received a knighthood in 1985.
Thousands of tonnes of ice fell away in a scene reminiscent of a skyscraper collapse, said Attenborough. The event was filmed from a helicopter. A camera crew in a boat would undoubtedly have drowned. "The gale that's produced atmospherically is huge and very, very dangerous," he added.
"It's a very dramatic image and if you want to see global warming in action, that's the place to film it," said Alastair Fothergill, who has worked on natural history films with Attenborough since the 1980s.
The series has been created by Silverback Films, the team behind Attenborough's acclaimed "Planet Earth" and "Blue Planet" series, and WWF, the world's leading conservation organization. Fothergill acts as executive producer on the series.
WWF provides extra materials and educational outreach online to everyone - not just Netflix subscribers.
"Our Planet" is available on Netflix globally on 5 April 2019.
