1. 00:00 Scott Parker arrives for news conference
2. 00:11 SOUNDBITE (English): Scott Parker, Fulham caretaker manager:
(About his emotions after taking temporary charge of Fulham)
"Probably mixed (emotions) to be fair. Obviously, in the sense of, Claudio (Ranieri) has walked out in the circumstances what they are, sitting where we are in the league (19th). Obviously, Claudio losing his job. He came in and was open arms with me in the sense of 'help me' and I think I helped him at times. Then, on the flip side of that, one of excitement. I appreciate the opportunity which the owners have given me here, so I am really looking forward to it in that sense. A big job, but I'm really looking forward to it."
3. 00:55 SOUNDBITE (English): Scott Parker, Fulham caretaker manager:
(About whether he would like the Fulham job on a permanent basis)
"Yeah, it's definitely an audition and, on a personal note, this is definitely something which I started seven years ago when I was a Spurs (Tottenham) player. I started to do my coaching badges. It's a passion of mine and, obviously, I had a year at Spurs last year (as an under-18s coach), which was an invaluable experience for me. Coaching players, being around players and then, obviously in my short period at Fulham, back here the same (as a first-team coach). So I've got a dying ambition to be a manager. Certainly, at this present moment in time, my main focus is trying to get the team together a little bit. Trying to get a little bit of stability. Take a deep breath and work from there, really."
4. 01:47 SOUNDBITE (English): Scott Parker, Fulham caretaker manager:
(About whether any former managers or team-mates had made contact with him since his appointment)
"Yeah, literally, yesterday (Thursday) the phone... I don't really have many friends but yesterday the phone was just pinging away really. So I had some amazing text messages. Sir Alex (Ferguson) text me late last night, which was pretty incredible really. To think that he spent the time to write a long, detailed message, giving me some advice on how he sees things, was truly inspirational really. I know it sounds like a big comment, but it's the truth. So I think we all understand what the football world is like. It's times when, obviously in despair, or times when things are going well - you get announced for a promotion or whatever - you really see the love. Certainly, over the course of 24 hours, the phone has been pinging really."
5. 02:54 SOUNDBITE (English): Scott Parker, Fulham caretaker manager:
(About what Claudio Ranieri said to him after his appointment)
"I think we all know what Claudio is like as a man. A true classy man really, in every sense. He came in this morning (Friday), addressed the players and we had a 10 minute conversation in a room. I thanked him for his time and for his effort with me and, likewise, the same. This is football, I suppose. Claudio said to me 'we all understand how football works', and when you have been involved in the game so long, you realise the ups and the downs. In this next part of my career, certainly you understand that these things happen. You have not got the security like you had as a player. But certainly as a man, he (Claudio Ranieri) is a class act."
6. 03:48 SOUNDBITE (English): Scott Parker, Fulham caretaker manager:
(About whether he can ensure Fulham's survival with games against Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City on the horizon)
"The situation doesn't lie. It's a tough situation and, regarding them games, this is a bunch of players that last year were arguably, well, they were for me one of the best teams in the Championship (second tier) - albeit they went up via the play-offs - this is a team (which was designed for) a hard, gruelling season in the Championship, for these moments. Okay, of course, it is a tough ask in terms of games against Chelsea and Manchester City but I know, certainly me as a player, and me now sitting in this position, I am relishing this opportunity - playing against these top teams, top players, top coaches and I know the players will be as well really. So I am looking forward to it massively."

STORYLINE:
Fulham caretaker manager Scott Parker said on Friday he has "mixed emotions" after the former England international replaced Claudio Ranieri in charge of the London club.
Italian Ranieri - who won the Premier League title with Leicester City in 2016 - was sacked on Thursday after just 106 days in charge.
Fulham are 10 points adrift of safety in 19th place, have lost their last four league games, and have matches against Chelsea and title challengers Liverpool and Manchester City in March.
Parker's first game in charge will be against his former club Chelsea at Craven Cottage on Sunday.
The 38-year-old - who had been first-team coach at Fulham since July 2018 - revealed he received many congratulatory messages following his appointment, which included one from legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
