వజ్రాల వ్యాపారి, పీఎన్బీ కుంభకోణం నిందితుడు నీరవ్మోదీకి చెందిన 173 పెయింటింగ్స్, 11 ఖరీదైన వాహనాలను ఈడీ వేలం వేయనుంది. మరోవైపు నీరవ్ భార్య అమీపై ముంబయి ప్రత్యేక న్యాయస్థానం నాన్బెయిలబుల్ వారెంట్ జారీ చేసింది.

పంజాబ్ నేషనల్ బ్యాంకు కుంభకోణం నిందితుడు, వజ్రాల వ్యాపారి నీరవ్మోదీకి చెందిన 173 పెయింటింగ్లను, 11 ఖరీదైన వాహనాలను ఈడీ అమ్మకానికి పెట్టనుంది. ఇందుకోసం ముంబయి ప్రత్యేక న్యాయస్థానం నుంచి ఎన్ఫోర్స్మెంట్ డైరెక్టరేట్ (ఈడీ)కు అనుమతి లభించింది. మరో వైపు నీరవ్మోదీ భార్య అమీపై కోర్ట్ నాన్ బెయిలబుల్ వారెంట్ జారీ చేసింది. పీఎన్బీ కుంభకోణంలో అమీ పాత్రపై గతంలో ఈడీ అనుబంధ ఛార్జ్షీట్ను దాఖలు చేసింది.

నీరవ్ మోదీకి చెందిన ఈ పెయింటింగ్లు దాదాపు రూ. 57 కోట్ల 72 లక్షల విలువ చేస్తాయి. వీటితో పాటు రోల్స్ రాయిస్, మెర్సిడెజ్, పోర్చే, టొయోటో ఫార్చునర్ వంటి 11 విలాసవంతమైన కార్లను ఈ నెలలోనే వేలం వేయనున్నట్లు ఈడీ అధికారులు తెలిపారు. మరో 68 పెయింటింగ్లను సైతం అమ్మకానికి పెట్టేలా ఆదాయ పన్ను శాఖకు న్యాయస్థానం అనుమతించింది.

భారత ఈడీ అభ్యర్థన మేరకు లండన్ కోర్టు నీరవ్మోదీపై అరెస్ట్ వారెంట్ జారీ చేసింది. దీంతో బుధవారం లండన్లోని స్కాట్లాండ్ యార్డ్లో నీరవ్ను అదుపులోకి తీసుకున్నారు పోలీసులు. ఫలితంగా, అతన్ని భారత్కు రప్పించేందుకు మార్గం సుగమమైంది.

"We, as a Hashemite (Jordanian) state, our duty is to protect the Islamic and the Christian holy sites. There is a pressure on us, this is right, but the answer will be 'no' (referring to alleged pressure to make Jordan a homeland for Palestinians). I don't think that they will put pressure on Jordan because all Jordanians stand with us regarding Jerusalem. In the end, our position is with our brothers in Jerusalem, and as I said Jerusalem is a red line, so from today we don't want to be scared of the future, because I know as Jordanians, we all will stand in one line, and in the end, all Arabs and Muslims will stand next to us."

STORYLINE:
Jordan's King Abdullah II on Wednesday reiterated his stance on Jerusalem, saying that the city is "a red line" and the Kingdom has a duty to protect its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
He was speaking during a visit to Zarqa Governorate on the outskirts of the capital, Amman.
King Abdullah said all Jordanians would "stand in one line" on the issue.
