కేంద్ర మాజీ మంత్రి, కాంగ్రెస్ సీనియర్ నేత చిదంబరానికి ఇప్పట్లో చిక్కులు తప్పేలా లేవు. ఐఎన్ఎక్స్ మీడియా కేసులో ఆరోపణలతో సీబీఐ ఆయనను ఆగస్టు 21న అరెస్టు చేసింది. 55 రోజులుగా కస్టడీలోనే ఉన్నారు. తాజాగా ఈడీ పిటిషన్పై దిల్లీ కోర్టు తీర్పు నేపథ్యంలో చిదంబరాన్ని ఎన్ఫోర్స్మెంట్ డైరెక్టరేట్ అదుపులోకి తీసుకునే అవకాశముంది. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో ఈడీ అధికారులు నేడు చిదంబరాన్ని ప్రశ్నించనున్నారు. అనంతరం.. అరెస్టు చేసే అవకాశాలున్నాయి.

55 రోజులుగా కస్టడీలోనే కాంగ్రెస్ నేత చిదంబరం ఐఎన్ఎక్స్ మీడియా కేసులో అవినీతి ఆరోపణలతో అరెస్టయిన కాంగ్రెస్ సీనియర్ నేత చిదంబరం... మరికొన్ని రోజులు కస్టడీలోనే ఉండే అవకాశముంది. ఆయన సీబీఐ కస్టడీ అక్టోబర్ 17తో ముగుస్తున్నప్పటికీ తాజాగా మరో ఉచ్చు బిగుసుకుంది.
విచారణ నిమిత్తం చిదంబరం అరెస్టుకు అనుమతించేలా ఆదేశాలివ్వాలని దిల్లీ కోర్టును ఆశ్రయించిన ఎన్ఫోర్స్మెంట్ డైరెక్టరేట్కు మంగళవారం అనుకూలంగా తీర్పు వచ్చింది. చిదంబరాన్ని విచారించేందుకు అనుమతినిచ్చింది న్యాయస్థానం. తాజా తీర్పు నేపథ్యంలో ఈడీ అధికారులు... కాంగ్రెస్ నేతను బుధవారం తిహార్ జైలులో ప్రశ్నించనున్నారు. అనంతరం.. అరెస్టు చేసే అవకాశాలు పుష్కలంగా ఉన్నాయి.
తొలుత అరెస్టు చేసి విచారణ జరుపుతామని కోర్టును ఈడీ అభ్యర్థించగా.. అందుకు న్యాయస్థానం అంగీకరించలేదు. మొదటగా దర్యాప్తు చేసి... అవసరమైతే అరెస్టు చేయవచ్చని ఎన్ఫోర్స్మెంట్ డైరెక్టరేట్కు సూచించింది దిల్లీ కోర్టు.
ఇప్పటికే ఐఎన్ఎక్స్ మీడియా కేసులో సీబీఐ చిదంబరాన్ని ఆగస్టు 21న అరెస్టు చేసింది. అనంతరం... 15 రోజుల పాటు కేంద్ర దర్యాప్తు సంస్థ కస్టడీలోనే ఉన్నారు. ఆపై జ్యుడీషియల్ కస్టడీ నిమిత్తం తిహార్ జైలుకు తరలించారు. ఆ గడువు అక్టోబర్ 17తో ముగియనుంది. అంటే మొత్తంగా... అరెస్టయిన దగ్గర నుంచి మంగళవారం వరకు చిదంబరం 55 రోజుల పాటు సీబీఐ, జ్యుడీషియల్ కస్టడీలోనే గడిపారు.
సీబీఐ కేసులో...
మరోవైపు సీబీఐ కేసులో బెయిల్ ఇవ్వాలంటూ చిదంబరం దాఖలు చేసిన పిటిషన్పై సుప్రీం కోర్టులో మంగళవారం విచారణ జరిగింది. చిదంబరానికి బెయిల్ ఇవ్వాలని ఆయన తరఫు న్యాయవాదులు కపిల్ సిబల్, అభిషేక్ మను సింఘ్వీ వాదించారు. చిదంబరాన్ని కస్టడీలో ఉంచుకొని అవమానించాలని సీబీఐ భావిస్తోందన్నారు.
ఈ విషయంపై సోలిసిటర్ జనరల్ తుషార్ మెహతా నేడు సీబీఐ తరఫున వాదనలు వినిపించనున్నారు.

యూపీఏ హయాంలో 2004-14 మధ్యలో కేంద్ర హోం, ఆర్థిక మంత్రిత్వ శాఖల బాధ్యతలు నిర్వర్తించారు చిదంబరం.
చిదంబరం ఆర్థికమంత్రిగా ఉన్న సమయంలో ఐఎన్ఎక్స్ మీడియా గ్రూపు రూ. 305 కోట్ల విదేశీ నిధులను అక్రమంగా పొందిందన్న ఆరోపణలతో 2017 మే 15న సీబీఐ ఛార్జీషీట్ దాఖలు చేసింది. అనంతరం ఈడీ మనీలాండరింగ్ కేసు నమోదు చేసింది.

Google unveiled a new Pixel smartphone and other hardware devices Tuesday, all aimed at getting people even more reliant on its artificial-intelligence services.
STORYLINE:
The Pixel 4 phone promises to respond to AI queries even faster than before, while a home Wi-Fi system is getting AI features for the first time.
The company also unveiled a new smart speaker and wireless earbuds, both with the AI-powered Google Assistant.
Jonathan Roubini, a technology expert who follows Google, says the company's aim is to push their ecosystem with new and updated devices.
"Your interactions with their phones and devices is supposed to be seamless and easier to use than it is today," he says.
The Pixel 4 will have better facial recognition for unlocking the phone with a glance.
Unlike the existing "trusted face" feature on Android phones, the new Face Unlock is intended to be more secure and easier to use, matching what Apple and Samsung already offer.
The new phone gets a second camera lens, for better zooming, even as some Apple and Samsung devices are getting a third lens, for wider-angle shots.
True to Google's focus on AI, the Pixel's new camera will recognize people you have taken many photos of before and automatically focus on them in new shots.
The Google Assistant, akin to Apple's Siri and Amazon's Alexa , is now available on more than one billion devices, including ones made by other manufacturers.
With Google's own products, though, the company can steer users to Assistant features even more.
That in turn, could encourage Google users to interact with other Google services such as search and maps more frequently, feeding into Google's multi-billion-dollar advertising business.
More use of Google Assistant also means that Google gets more data on user preferences and activities to build its advertising profiles.
With the new Pixel, the Google Assistant will complete some tasks entirely on the device - so it doesn't have to wait for answers from the cloud - allowing users to make commands and dictate text messages more quickly.
The Pixel 4 will carry a starting price tag of $799 USD - $100 USD more than the entry-level iPhone 11 - and will go on sale Oct. 24. The larger XL version will cost $899 USD.
Google's phones have been well reviewed but have yet to make much of a splash in the market dominated by Apple, Huawei and Samsung.
In fact, Google's hardware products have never been big moneymakers. Rather, they offer a way for Google to showcase its money-making services.
The company also unveiled true wireless earbuds, called Pixel Buds, Google's answer to Apple's AirPods.
The new model, which will go on sale early next year for $179 USD, does away with the wire that connects the two buds.
Google introduced Nest Mini, the smaller version of its smart speaker. It comes out next Tuesday for $49 USD.
Google's refreshed Wi-Fi router, Nest Wifi, will be available in the coming weeks for $269 USD.
A new Pixelbook Go laptop goes on sale in January staring at $649 USD.
