STORYLINE:
The Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Dallas Stars 2-1 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, USA on Friday.
Just 18 seconds into the game Max Pacioretty scored a goal to put the Vegas Golden Knights up 1-0.
The Dallas Stars and Vegas Golden Knights were tied 1-1 after the first period of play.
William Karlsson was awarded a penalty shot after being tripped on a breakaway, but Stars goalie Anton Khudobin made a nice save. Neither the Stars or Golden Knights were able to score a goal in the second period.
Early in the third period, the Golden Knights took a 2-1 lead thanks to a goal from Ryan Reaves.
Taylor Fedun nearly tied the game for the Stars late in the game, but his shot attempt hit the crossbar.
