విశాఖ ఆంధ్రా విశ్వ విద్యాలయంలో పాలకవర్గాన్ని ప్రభుత్వం రద్దు చేసింది. పాలకమండలి గడువు పూర్తికావడంతో న్యాయపరమైన చిక్కులు రాకుండా ఈ నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది. అధికారులతో కూడిన పాలకమండిలి మాత్రం కొనసాగనుంది. 2016 ఫిబ్రవరిలో పాలకమండలి నియామకం జరిగింది. గవర్నర్ అనుమతి ఉన్నంత వరకూ కొనసాగుతుందని ఉత్తర్వుల్లో నిర్దేశించారు. విశ్వ విద్యాలయ పాలకమండలకి మూడేళ్ల కాల పరిమితి మాత్రమే ఉంటుందని హైకోర్టు స్పష్టం చేసింది.
విశ్వ విద్యాలయానికి పాలకమండలిలో కేటగిరీ -1, కేటగిరీ -2 ఉంటాయి. కేటగిరీ-1 లో సభ్యులుగా వీసీ, ఉన్నత విద్యా మండలి, ఉన్నత విద్యా శాఖ అధికారులుంటారు. కేటగిరీ -2 లో వివిధ రంగాలకు చెందిన ప్రముఖులను సభ్యులుగా ప్రభుత్వం నియమిస్తుంది. కేటగిరి -2 లో ఉన్న 8 మంది పదవీకాలం ముగిసింది. ఈ నెల 2 తో గడువు ముగిసినప్పటికీ, 8 న జరిగిన పాలకమండలి సమావేశంలో వీళ్లు పాల్గొన్నారు. దీనితో కొందరు హైకోర్టును ఆశ్రయించడంతో ప్రభుత్వం ఈ నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది.

Artists of different generations have shown their ardent love for the motherland in a magnificent Lantern Festival Gala as the country will celebrate its 70th anniversary this year.
The Gala recording would be broadcast on Tuesday, the Lantern Festival, across the world.
Guo Lanying, a 90-year-old revered treble singer, sang the classic "My Motherland" together with Zhang Ye and Zhou Xuan, of the next two generations, sending their best wishes to China.
Jin Tingting, a singer, said, "I sang 'Strength of Rejuvenation' at the CCTV Lantern Festival Gala. The Lantern Festival, which falls on the 15th day of the first lunar month, marks the end of the Spring Festival and is celebrated by displaying lanterns and eating yuanxiao, glutinous rice flour dumpling with sweetened stuffing.
