The father of a the Vietnamese suspect accused in the killing of the North Korean leader's estranged half brother, was "very disappointed" Malaysia won't drop the murder charge against his daughter.
Doan Van Thanh said on Thursday he hoped his daughter, Doan Thi Huong, "would be released like the Indonesian woman", Siti Aisyah, who was also accused in the case but freed Monday.
Speaking from his home in a rural part of Nam Dinh province, Thanh said he believes his daughter is innocent.
The two women were the only people in custody after four North Korean suspects fled the country the morning of 13 February 2017, when Kim Jong Nam was poisoned with VX nerve agent.
Aisyah and Huong have said they thought they were taking part in a prank for a TV show.
