STORYLINE:
Hosts Terengganu FC scored a dramatic late equaliser through Malik Ariff to rescue a point after a 1-1 draw with PKNS in their 2019 Malaysian Super League season opener on Friday.
Terengganu had dominated the game, but the home side was made to pay when PKNS scored through Nick Swirad's header after a Chan Vathanaka corner in the 64th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
The visitors were then pushed back by some excellent Terengganu pressure. Having missed great chance through Uzbekistan midfielder Sanjar Shaakmedov in the 86th minute, Malik Ariff earned The Turtles a deserved point. On this showing, both teams look as though they may be competitive in the 2019 season.
