8. SOUNDBITE (Italian) Pope Francis: ++MULTIPLE ANGLES++
"The bonds of faith keeping us together date back to the Apostles, particularly to the relationship between Peter and Andrew, who according to the tradition brought the faith in your lands. They were brothers in blood, and even when they shed their blood for the Lord. Among us there were many martyrs, also recently, like the seven Greek-Catholic bishops, who I 'll have the joy to proclaim blessed. What they suffered, offering their lives, is a too precious legacy not to be forgotten. It's a common legacy, which calls us not to keep a distance from the brother who shares it."

STORYLINE:
Preparations were ongoing in Romania on Wednesday ahead of Pope Francis three-day visit which will focus on ecumenism and brotherhood.
Francis will arrive in Bucharest on 31 May, 20 years after St. John Paul II's historic visit, which was the first papal visit to an Orthodox country since the 1054 Great Schism.
During his visit, the pontif is scheduled to visit the capital, Bucharest, Iasi in northeastern Romania known for its Orthodox churches and monasteries, and Blaj, the seat of the Catholic Church.
He will also visit the Marian shrine at Sumuleu Ciuc, where in 1999 crowds of faithful welcomed John Paul II shouting 'Unitate, Unitate', calling for unity among the different churches.
In Blaj, Francis will take part in the beatification ceremony of seven Greek-Catholic bishops killed during the Communist regime.
He will also meet with members of the local Roma community.
