రోగనిరోధక వ్యవస్థ దెబ్బతిని తీవ్ర అనారోగ్యానికి గురైన డేవిడ్.. 2021, డిసెంబర్ 26న ఆసుపత్రిలో చేరారు. రెండు వారాలకుపైగా ఆసుపత్రిలో చికిత్స పొందుతూ మంగళవారం తుదిశ్వాస విడిచారు.
2009లో తొలిసారి యురోపియన్ పార్లమంట్కు ఎన్నికయ్యారు సస్సోలీ. మరోమారు 2014లో గెలుపొందిన తర్వాత పార్లమెంట్ ఉపాధ్యక్షుడిగా సేవలందించారు. ఈ నెలలో కొత్త అధ్యక్షుడిని ఎన్నుకోవాలని పార్లమెంట్ సభ్యులు నిర్ణయించిన క్రమంలో ఎన్నికల్లో పోటీ చేయకూడదని నిర్ణయించుకున్నారు సస్సోలీ.
ఫ్రాన్స్లోని స్ట్రాస్బోర్గ్లో యురోపియన్ పార్లమెంట్ ప్రధానకార్యాలయం ఉంది. యురోపియన్ యూనియన్ పార్లమెంట్.. 450 మిలియన్ల మంది ప్రజలకు ప్రాతినిధ్యం వహిస్తోంది. సభ్య దేశాలు 700మంది సభ్యులను ఎన్నుకుంటాయి.
