Leh (Jammu and Kashmir), Feb 06 (ANI): Annual Dhosmochey Mela concluded with religious fervor and gaiety in Leh and Likir Monastery. This festival is a tradition that was started by a king named Lhachen Gongdup on the pattern of the popular Mon-lam. It means 'Great Prayer' ceremony of Lhasa. Monks from Hemis Monastery performed spectacular mask dances at Leh Palace Monastery courtyard, where large number of spectators witnessed the festival. It is said that with the celebration of Dhosmochey signifies the change in weather with each passing day. By doing these rituals people believe that they will be protected from natural calamities.
