3. SOUNDBITE (English) Eli Vered Hazan, Foreign Affairs Director of the Likud party:
"I think this is a disgrace, but it was a decision of (the leader of the secular ultranationalist Yisrael Beiteinu party Avigdor) Lieberman to put a lot of obstacles to (Prime Minister Banjamin) Netanyahu and that was the outcome. Unfortunately, we didn't want it, moreover if you saw yesterday Netanyahu even offered to the Labor party come and join the government in order to prevent it, so Netanyahu was very sincere about not wanting new elections."

5. SOUNDBITE (English) Eli Vered Hazan, Foreign Affairs Director of the Likud party:
"I don't think this is the failure of the prime minister because if he would have failed we would not be able to form the government at all, it would go to Benny Gantz. But in the end don't forget, 65 MK's (members of Knesset) voted with Netanyahu. What happened yesterday? Yvet (Avigdor) Lieberman decided that he cross the lines to the left wing and that is the only reason."

7. SOUNDBITE (English) Eli Vered Hazan, Foreign Affairs Director of the Likud party:
"We are going into an election trying to get 61 seats out of 120 without Lieberman, that is the challenge, in order to secure a right wing government after the next election."

9. SOUNDBITE (English) Eli Vered Hazan, Foreign Affairs Director of the Likud party:
"The majority in the state of Israel don't want a left-wing government. I mean we got a big majority, think about the waste of votes of those that did not make the threshold such as (Moshe) Feiglin and the New Right (party). We dont want a left-wing movement and besides that, again, look at the facts 65 MK's (members of Knesset) of the right wing voted with Netanyahu they don't want a left-wing govern, it is a fact. "

STORYLINE:
Foreign Affairs Director of the Israeli Likud party called the unprecedented snap election campaign in Israel "a disgrace" but says it was no fault of the prime minister.
Eli Vered Hazan said on Thursday Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was simply faced with too many obstacles.
Israel announced it's second election campaign this year on Thursday after Netanyahu failed to form a governing coalition and instead dissolved parliament.
In what seemed an improbable scenario just days ago, Israel's newly elected Knesset dissolved itself in an early morning 74-45 vote and set a new election date for 17 September.
Netanyahu, who has led Israel for the past decade, now faces another challenge to his lengthy rule.
It comes as he prepares for a pre-indictment hearing before expected criminal charges against him in a series of corruption cases.
Assuming they would sweep into power again, Netanyahu's allies in the ruling Likud party had already begun drafting a contentious bill aimed at granting him immunity from the various corruption charges awaiting him.
