STORYLINE:
Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has dismissed accusations by US President Donald Trump that Mexico is assisting migrant caravans headed for the US border.
Obrador told a news conference in Mexico City on Wednesday that he was "not going to get involved" in US domestic political wrangling between Republicans and Democrats.
Trump in his State of the Union speech on Tuesday night accused Mexican cities of busing migrants to the border "to bring them up to our country in areas where there is little border protection."
Obrador said his relationship with the Trump administration was "respectful", adding that Trump "made those remarks because he has to make them".
Obrador reiterated his government's position that the migration issue needs to be addressed by improving the labour and security situation in Mexico and Central America.
