குட் மார்னிங் அமெரிக்கா (Good Morning America) என்னும் புகழ்பெற்ற நிகழ்ச்சியில் பங்கேற்ற டெமி மூர், தான் 15 வயதில் பாலியல் தொல்லையை சந்தித்ததாகத் தெரிவித்துள்ளார். 56 வயதான டெமி மூர், தனது புதிய புத்தகமான Inside Out (இன்சைடு அவுட்) பற்றி பேசுவதற்காக இந்நிகழ்ச்சியில் கலந்துகொண்டார்.
Inside Out புத்தகத்தை தனது மூன்று மகள்களுக்கும் மறைந்த தனது தாய்க்கும் சமர்ப்பிப்பதாக தெரிவித்த டெமி, தனக்கு நேர்ந்த பாலியல் தொல்லை குறித்துப் பேசினார்.
இது குறித்து அவர், "எனது தாய் போதை பழக்கத்துக்கு ஆளாகியிருந்தார். எனது தாயை சந்திக்க அடிக்கடி வருபவன், நான் தந்தை என்று நினைத்தவன் எனக்கு பாலியல் தொல்லை கொடுத்தான். பாலியல் தொல்லை கொடுத்தது மட்டுமல்லாமல், 500 டாலருக்கு உன் தாய் உன்னை பாலியல் தொழிலாளியாக அனுப்பினால் எப்படி இருக்கும் என கேள்வி எழுப்பினான்" என வேதனையுடன் பகிர்ந்துள்ளார்.

மேலும் அவர், பாலியல் தொழிலாளியாகும் சூழல் தனக்கு நேர்ந்துவிடக் கூடாது என மனதில் நினைத்துக்கொண்டே இருந்தேன் என்றார். தன் பெற்றோர் குடிப்பழக்கத்துக்கு அடிமையாகி இருந்ததால், கடன் தொல்லையில் வெவ்வேறு இடங்களில் வாழ்ந்துவந்ததாக குறிப்பிட்ட அவர், சிறு வயதில், தனது தாய் தற்கொலை முயற்சி செய்ய விழுங்கிய மாத்திரைகளை தன் பிஞ்சு விரல்களால் அவர் வாயிலிருந்து எடுத்ததாக உணர்ச்சி ததும்ப பேசினார். இது குறித்து தனது புத்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருப்பதாகவும் கூறினார்.
