नवी दिल्ली - 'आझम खान यांनी माझ्याबद्दल केलेले आक्षेपार्ह वक्तव्य माझ्यासाठी अजिबात नवीन नाही. तुम्हाला आठवत असेल तर २००९ साली मी समाजवादी पक्षाची उमेदवार होते. तेव्हाही त्यांनी माझ्या विरोधात वक्तव्य केले होते. तेव्हा कोणीही मला पाठिंबा दिला नव्हता. मी एक महिला आहे. आझम खान जे बोलले ते मी पुन्हा बोलू शकत नाही. मी त्यांचे काय बिघडवले आहे, ते मला समजत नाही. ज्यामुळे ते सतत माझ्याबद्दल अशा पद्धतीने बोलत असतात,' असे जया प्रदा म्हणाल्या.

'आझम खान यांना निवडणूक लढवण्याची परवानगी देऊ नये. कारण हा माणूस निवडणूक जिंकला तर लोकशाहीचे काय होईल? समाजामध्ये महिलांना स्थान उरणार नाही. आम्ही कोठे जायचे? मी मेल्यानंतर तुम्हाला समाधान मिळणार का? तुम्हाला काय वाटते, मी घाबरुन रामपूर सोडून निघून जाईन? मी रामपूर सोडणार नाही,' असे जया प्रदा यांनी ठणकावून सांगितले. जया प्रदा यांच्याबद्दल आझम खान यांनी वादग्रस्त विधान करण्याची ही पहिली वेळ नाही. याआधी सुद्धा दोघांमध्ये बरेच वाद झाले आहेत.

जया प्रदा रामपूरमधून आझम खान यांच्या विरोधात निवडणूक लढवत आहेत. आझम खान यांनी भाषण करताना अत्यंत खालच्या पातळीची भाषा वापरली. मी कोणाचेही नाव घेतलेले नाही. मी दोषी ठरलो तर निवडणुकीतून माघार घेईन, असे आझम खान यांनी म्हटले आहे. त्यांनी जया प्रदा यांच्याविषयी केलेल्या वक्तव्याबद्दल त्यांच्या विरोधात एफआयआर दाखल झाला असून महिला आयोगानेही त्यांच्याकडून स्पष्टीकरण मागितले आहे.
