ന്യൂഡല്‍ഹി; പൗരത്വ നിയമഭേദഗതി പിൻവലിക്കണമെന്നാവശ്യപ്പെട്ട് കോൺഗ്രസ് അധ്യക്ഷ സോണിയാ ഗാന്ധിയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ പ്രതിപക്ഷ പാർട്ടി നേതാക്കൾ രാഷ്ട്രപതിയെ കണ്ടു. ഒൻപത് പ്രതിപക്ഷ പാർട്ടികളുടെ നേതാക്കളാണ് രാഷ്ട്രപതിയെ കണ്ടത്. പൗരത്വ നിയമ ഭേദഗതി പിൻവലിക്കണം എന്നാണ് നേതാക്കൾ ഉന്നയിച്ച ആവശ്യം. ജനങ്ങളുടെ ശബ്ദം അടിച്ചമർത്തുന്ന മോദി സർക്കാരിന് ഒട്ടും അനുകമ്പയില്ലെന്ന് കൂടിക്കാഴ്ചയ്ക്ക് ശേഷം സോണിയ മാധ്യമങ്ങളോട് പ്രതികരിച്ചു. ജാമിയ മിലിയ വനിത ഹോസ്റ്റലില്‍ പൊലീസ് കയറിയ സംഭവവും അക്രമവും സോണിയ വിശദീകരിച്ചു. പൗരത്വ നിയമഭേദഗതി വടക്കുകിഴക്കൻ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലെ സ്ഥിതി ഗരുതരമാക്കി. ഇത് വ്യാപിക്കുമെന്ന് ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു. പൊലീസ് നടപടിയില്‍ കഠിന വേദനയുണ്ടെന്നും സോണിയ പറഞ്ഞു.

നിയമവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് രാജ്യത്തുണ്ടായ അക്രമസംഭവങ്ങളും ക്രമസമാധാന തകർച്ചയും നേതാക്കൾ രാഷ്ട്രപതിയുടെ ശ്രദ്ധയില്‍ പെടുത്തി. കലാലയങ്ങളില്‍ നടക്കുന്ന പൊലീസ് അതിക്രമം തടയണമെന്നും പ്രതിപക്ഷം ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. ഗുലാംനബി ആസാദ്, എകെ ആന്‍റണി, സീതാറാം യെച്ചൂരി എന്നിവർ അടക്കമുള്ളവർ സോണിയയ്ക്കൊപ്പമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
