​ప్రపంచకప్​ కీలక దశకు చేరుకుంది. సెమీస్​లో చోటు కోసం ఇంగ్లాండ్​, బంగ్లాదేశ్​, పాకిస్థాన్​, శ్రీలంక పోటీ పడుతున్నాయి. ఇలాంటి సమయంలో లంక జట్టుకు గట్టి ఎదురుదెబ్బ తగిలింది. పేసర్​ ప్రదీప్ టోర్నీ నుంచి నిష్క్రమించాడు.​

​ప్రపంచకప్ తుది ఘట్టానికి చేరుకొంటోంది. సెమీస్​లో నాలుగో స్థానం కోసం ఇంగ్లాండ్​, బంగ్లాదేశ్​, పాకిస్థాన్​, శ్రీలంక జట్లు పోటీ పడుతున్నాయి. అయితే ఇలాంటి కీలక సమయంలో లంకకు పెద్ద దెబ్బ తగిలింది. ఆ జట్టు ఫాస్ట్​ బౌలర్​ నువాన్​ ప్రదీప్​ మెగాటోర్నీ నుంచి నిష్క్రమించాడు. చికెన్​ పాక్స్​ కారణంగా టోర్నీకి దూరమైనట్లు అధికారికంగా పేర్కొంది లంక జట్టు యాజమాన్యం. ఇతడి స్థానంలో కసున్​ రజిత్​ జట్టులో చేరనున్నాడు.

7 మ్యాచ్​లు ఆడిన శ్రీలంక.. రెండు మాత్రమే నెగ్గి మూడు మ్యాచ్​లు ఓడింది. మరో రెండు వర్షం కారణంగా రద్దయ్యాయి. ఫలితంగా 6 పాయింట్లతో 7వ స్థానంలో ఉంది. చివరి రెండు మ్యాచ్​ల్లో వెస్టిండీస్​, భారత్​తో తలపడనున్న ఈ జట్టు... రెండింటిలోనూ గెలిస్తే సెమీస్​లో నాలుగో స్థానం కోసం రేస్​లో ఉంటుంది.

"I think she (Democratic Senator Kamala Harris) was given far too much credit for what she did, that was so out of the can what she said and I think was read out of a box and I thought that he didn't respond great. I wouldn't say it was one... this was not Winston Churchill we're dealing with, okay, but but it wasn't, it wasn't, I don't think nearly as bad as they portended it to be."
5. Trump leaving news conference
STORYLINE:
U.S. President Donald Trump has defended his decision not to confront Saudi Arabia's Mohammed Bin Salman over the murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.
During a news conference at the end of the G-20 summit in Japan, Trump said "they've taken it very, very seriously and they will continue to."
He said Saudi Arabia was a terrific ally of the United States but added "with that being said I'm extremely angry and unhappy about a thing like that taking place."
Trump also weighed in on the Democratic presidential debate and argued that California Senator Kamala Harris was overpraised for her attack on former Vice President Joe Biden over racial equality.
Harris has been widely praised for her move highlighting Biden's opposition to public school bussing during the 1970s.
However Trump said he thinks she "was given far too much credit for what she did" and said her answer came "right out of a box."
The U.S. president also said Biden was no Winston Churchill - a reference to the great orator - but argued his performance wasn't that bad.
He also responded to comments by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter who said Trump was only president because of Russian interference.
"Jimmy Carter, look, he was a  nice man. He was a terrible president," Trump said.
