"నా ప్రయాణం 1983లో ఆరంభమైంది. అప్పుడు నా వయసు పదేళ్లు. భారత్‌ ప్రపంచకప్‌ గెలిచింది. దాని ప్రాముఖ్యత అప్పటికి నాకు తెలియదు. అందరూ సంబరాలు చేసుకుంటుంటే నేనూ వాళ్లతో కలిశా. కానీ ఏదో ప్రత్యేకమైంది జరిగిందని నాకు తెలుసు. ఏదో ఒక రోజు అలాంటి అనుభవాన్ని నేనూ పొందాలనుకున్నా. 22 ఏళ్ల నిరీక్షణ తర్వాత ట్రోఫీని అందుకున్న క్షణం నా జీవితంలో అత్యంత గర్వించే క్షణం" అని అని ట్రోఫీ స్వీకరించిన అనంతరం సచిన్ చెప్పాడు. అంతేకాకుండా ఆ రోజు మొత్తం దేశమంతా సంబరాలు చేసుకుందని అభిప్రాయపడ్డాడు.
