35 ఏళ్లు... 93 హత్యలు...! ఓ 79 ఏళ్ల సైకో నేర చరిత్ర ఇది. అమెరికాలోనే అత్యంత క్రూరమైన సీరియల్ కిల్లర్ అతడే అంటున్నారు అధికారులు. ఇప్పటివరకు 50 హత్య కేసుల్లో అతడి పాత్రను నిర్ధరించారు. మిగిలిన కేసుల పనిబట్టేందుకు యత్నిస్తున్నారు.

సైకో కిల్లర్ కథాంశంగా హాలీవుడ్లో ఎన్నో చిత్రాలు వచ్చాయ్. పెద్దగా కారణాలు లేకుండానే ఓ వ్యక్తి అతి కిరాతకంగా వరుస హత్యలు చేసే దృశ్యాలు... సినీ ప్రేక్షకులను భయపెడతాయి. బాక్సాఫీస్ వద్ద కాసుల వర్షం కురిపిస్తాయి. అలాంటి ఓ సైకో నిజ జీవితంలో ఉంటే...?

ఎఫ్బీఐ చెప్పిన కథ...

శామ్యూల్ లిటిల్.... వయసు 79 ఏళ్లు. అమెరికా వాసి. 1970-2005 మధ్య ఏకంగా 93 హత్యలు చేశాడు. మృతుల్లో మహిళలే అధికం. ఈ విషయాన్ని అతడే స్వయంగా అంగీకరించాడు.
మాజీ బాక్సర్ శామ్యూల్ చెప్పిన వివరాలను తన వెబ్సైట్లో ఉంచింది అమెరికా ఫెడరల్ బ్యూరో ఆఫ్ ఇన్వెస్టిగేషన్. 50 హత్యలు కచ్చితంగా శామ్యూల్ చేసినవేనని నిర్ధరించింది. మిగిలినవాటి కోసం ఆధారాలు సేకరించే పనిలో ఉంది.

అప్పటి నుంచి జైల్లోనే...

వరుస హత్యలు చేసే శామ్యూల్... తనను ఎవరూ పట్టుకోలేరని అనుకునేవాడు. తన చేతిలో చనిపోయిన వారి గురించి పెద్దగా పట్టించుకునేవారు లేరన్న నమ్మకమే ఇందుకు కారణం. కానీ... 2012లో అతడి పాపం పండింది. మాదక ద్రవ్యాల కేసులో అరెస్టయ్యాడు. డీఎన్ఏ పరీక్షలు చేయగా 1987-89 మధ్య జరిగిన 3 హత్య కేసులతో అతడికి సంబంధం ఉన్నట్లు తేలింది.

3 హత్య కేసుల్లో శామ్యూల్కు 2014లో జీవితఖైదు పడింది. అప్పటినుంచి జైల్లోనే ఉన్నాడు. అయితే... ప్రతి కేసులోని నిజానిజాలు తేల్చి, బాధితులకు న్యాయం చేయడమే లక్ష్యంగా పనిచేస్తున్నట్లు తెలిపింది ఎఫ్బీఐ.

"The Supreme Court of Cassation has a single move and it is to declare the appeal inadmissible. There's no question. Unfortunately, the case is politicized, but the chief prosecutor is the one who always politicizing things. What is happening at the moment is a purely political move that has nothing to do with the law, jurisprudence and justice."

STORYLINE:
Bulgaria's highest court has adjourned a hearing about a petition by the chief prosecutor to revoke the parole for an Australian man convicted of fatally stabbing a Bulgarian student during a 2007 brawl.
The Supreme Court of Cassation announced Monday it will announce its final ruling within two months.
Jock Palfreeman had served 11 years of his 20-year prison sentence when an appeals court unexpectedly ordered him freed two weeks ago.
The 32-year-old left prison but was transferred to an immigration detention facility to await a new passport from the nearest Australian Embassy, in Athens.
The release of the Australian has sparked angry reactions among Bulgarians, who accused the judiciary of double standards and a leniency toward foreigners.
It has also caused a wide controversy in Bulgaria, with condemnation of the ruling across the political spectrum and has led to hefty disputes among members of the judiciary.
On Monday, the court heard from the prosecution and from Palfreeman's lawyer, Kalin Angelov.
Palfreeman did not appear in court.
"I think that the only possible decision that the court should make is to declare the (prosecutor's) petition unlawful," Angelov said.
Palfreeman remains in custody pending the court's ruling.
