కరోనాపై పోరాటంలో భాగంగా కేంద్ర, రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వాలకు భారీ విరాళం ప్రకటించాడు భారత క్రికెటర్ సురేశ్ రైనా. మొత్తం 52 లక్షల రూపాయలు సాయం చేయనున్నట్లు తెలిపాడు. ఇందులో 31 లక్షలు పీఎం కేర్స్కు, 21 లక్షలు యూపీ సీఎం జాతీయ విపత్తుల సహాయనిధికి అందజేయనున్నట్లు ప్రకటించాడు. ఇప్పటివరకు దేశవ్యాప్తంగా క్రీడా ప్రముఖులు ఇచ్చిన మొత్తంలో ఇదే అత్యధికం. 33 ఏళ్ల ఈ క్రికెటర్ టీమిండియా తరఫున 18 టెస్టులు, 226 వన్డేలు, 78 టీ20లు ఆడాడు. దాదాపు 2005 నుంచి 2018 వరకు భారత జట్టులో కొనసాగాడు.

కరోనా సంక్షోభాన్ని ఎదుర్కొనే చర్యల్ని మరింత ముమ్మరం చేసింది కేంద్రప్రభుత్వం. దాతల నుంచి విరాళాలు సేకరించి, కష్టాల్లో ఉన్నవారికి అందించే సదుద్దేశంతో "ప్రైమ్ మినిస్టర్స్ సిటిజెన్ అసిస్టెన్స్ అండ్ రిలీఫ్ ఇన్ ఎమర్జెన్సీ సిచ్యువేషన్స్ ఫండ్"(పీఎం కేర్స్) పేరిట ప్రత్యేక నిధి ఏర్పాటు చేసింది. ఇందుకు చిన్న మొత్తాల్లో విరాళాలు తీసుకోనున్నారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్ని నేడు మోదీ ప్రారంభించారు.
- నిధి ఏర్పాటుపై ప్రభుత్వం ప్రకటన చేసిన కాసేపటికే ఐఏఎస్ అధికారుల సంఘం స్పందించింది. తమ వంతుగా రూ.21 లక్షలు ఇస్తున్నట్లు ప్రకటించింది. అంతేకాకుండా సభ్యులంతా కనీసం ఒక్క రోజు వేతనం ఇస్తారని తెలిపింది.
