Some of the survivors of the attacks on mosques in Christchurch that left 49 people dead spoke of their ordeals on Saturday.
48-year old Abdul Aziz, originally from Kabul in Afganistan, was at the Linwood mosque with his family.
He said he ran outside and tried to chase the shooter.
While throwing the gun the shooter had left behind, Aziz said the attacker began to drive away in his car.
Farid Ahmed, a 59-year-old survivor from the second targeted Masjid Al Noor mosque, lost his wife when they split up to go to the bathroom.
He saw a video on YouTube of when she was shot dead and it was later officially confirmed by a police officer on Friday that she had passed away.
He has a 15-year-old daughter who was at school that day and he has been living in Christchurch for over two decades. Ahmed is originally from Bangladesh.
Outside the Christchurch Hospital, where a majority of mosque attack victims are being treated, some flowers were left outside.
Lin Gao, 36-year-old expat living in New Zealand, has a daughter that goes to school 3 kilometers away (about 2 miles) from one of the mosques.
He came to leave a bouquet of flowers to remember the victims.
