The 7th session of the World Government Summit opened in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Sunday.
Participating were more than 4,000 delegates representing 140 countries, regions and international organizations.
The summit will focus on climate change, innovative improvement in global governance, application of artificial intelligence and how science and technology change the future of humanity, with the purpose of foreseeing the orientation of development in different areas of human society and striving to enhance the wellbeing of the people.
The summit began with speeches by Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, and Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum.
Addressing the opening, Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, said that the rapid and complicated changes full of uncertainties brought by the fourth industrial revolution have made it necessary to build a trust in the global system.
He called for a sustainable and inclusive globalization to address the risks and challenges.
The three-day summit will hold 16 forums and 200 workshops, with 600 people from around the world to speak.
The summit will also publish 20 reports with the latest data and studies as reference for decision-makers and officials to formulate future strategies.
