The Yamaha rider won the stage to extend his lead over Joaquim Rodrigues to 16 minutes.
Nasser al-Attiyah and Mathieu Baumel were the day's winners in the auto classification - the pair increasing their advantage over second-placed Conrad Rautenbach and Ola Floene to a massive one hour and 25 seconds.
