Perth Glory moved seven points clear at the top of the A-League following a 2-1 win over second-placed Melbourne Victory on Sunday.
Melbourne, the reigning champions, were looking to make up ground on the leaders, Perth, but spurned their first real opening when Iwan Franji shot wide in the 16th minute.
The visitors punished that profligacy after the interval with two goals in nine minutes to set up victory.
After a handball, Neil Kilkenny converted a spot kick in the 61st - and just a few minutes later, the Glory's lead was doubled when Diego Castro netted from close range.
Kosta Barbarouses pulled one back for the home side with 12 minutes left but they couldn't manage an equaliser.
Perth Glory now have with 43 points, with just nine games remaining in the campaign for Melbourne to catch up.
