జనవరిలో తెలుగు, హిందీలో మొత్తం 10 చిత్రాలు వరకు వచ్చాయి. తెలుగులో ఎఫ్2 మినహా మిగిలినవి చెప్పుకోదగ్గ వసూళ్లు సాధించలేదు. హిందీలో మణికర్ణిక విమర్శకుల ప్రశంసలు అందుకుంటున్నా కంగనా, దర్శకుడు క్రిష్ల మధ్య మాటలు వివాదానికి దారి తీసింది. ప్రస్తుతం ప్రేక్షకాదరణ పొందుతున్న ఏకైక చిత్రం "ఉరీ-ద సర్జికల్ స్ట్రైక్" మాత్రమే.
వాస్తవ ఘటనల ఆధారంగా తెరకెక్కిన 'ఉరీ' మంచి వసూళ్లతో దూసుకెళ్తోంది. జనవరి 11న విడుదలైన ఈ సినిమా నాలుగు వారాలకు రూ.180.82 కోట్ల వసూళ్లు సాధించింది. రూ.200 కోట్లు దిశగా పరుగులు తీస్తోంది. హిందీలో మణికర్ణిక, ఎక్ లడఖీఖో దేఖా తో ఐసా లగా సినిమాలు వచ్చినా... ప్రేక్షకులు ఈ చిత్రం వైపే మొగ్గుచూపుతున్నారు.
బడ్జెట్ ప్రవేశపెడుతున్న సమయంలో కేంద్ర ఆర్థిక మంత్రి పీయూష్ గోయల్ సైతం ఈ సినిమాలోని డైలాగ్ వినిపించారు. చిత్రం చూశానని, ఫన్ తో పాటు జోష్ ఉందని ఆయన కొనియాడారు. మంత్రి 'హౌ ఈజ్ ది జోష్' అని చిత్రంలోని డైలాగ్ చెబుతున్నప్పుడు భాజపా సభ్యులు బల్లలు చరుస్తూ అభివాదాలు తెలిపారు.
విక్కీ కౌశల్, యామిగౌతమ్, పరేశ్ రావల్ ప్రధాన పాత్రధారులుగా తెరికెక్కిన ఈ చిత్రానికి ఆధిత్య ధార్ దర్శకత్వం వహించారు.
