இதுகுறித்து அவர், "கடந்த 12 மாதமாக லாஸ் ஏஞ்சல்ஸிலுள்ள துறைமுகங்களில் ஏற்றுமதி குறைந்துள்ளது. கடந்த ஆண்டு நவம்பர் மாதத்துடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில் இறக்குமதியும் 12 சதவிகிதம் வரை குறைந்துள்ளது.
இங்குள்ள போர்ட் ஆஃப் லாங் பீச் துறைமுகத்தில் கையாளப்படும் சரக்குகளும் 5 சதவிகிதம் வரை குறைந்துள்ளது. இதன் காரணமாக மூலப் பொருள்களின் விலையும் சந்தையில் விற்கப்படும் பொருள்களின் விலையும் அதிகரித்துள்ளது. குறைவான சரக்கு கப்பல்கள் இங்கு வருவது, குறைவான வேலைவாய்ப்பையே ஏற்படுத்துகிறது.
