குஜராத் முன்னாள் முதலமைச்சர் கேஷுபாய் பட்டேல் காலமானார்

குஜராத் மாநில முன்னாள் முதலமைச்சர் கேஷுபாய் பட்டேல் உடல்நலக் குறைவால் காலமானார்.

குஜராத் மாநிலத்தின் மூத்த அரசியல் தலைவரும், முன்னாள் முதலமைச்சருமான கேஷுபாய் பட்டேல் இன்று (அக்.29) காலமானார். அவருக்கு வயது 92. இவர் குஜராத் சட்டப்பேரவை உறுப்பினாராக ஆறு முறை தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டவர். 1995ஆம் ஆண்டில் முதல் முறையாக குஜராத் மாநில முதலமைச்சராக இவர் பதவியேற்றார். அந்த ஆண்டே அரசியல் சூழல் காரணமாக பதவி விலகிய அவர், மீண்டும் 1998ஆம் ஆண்டு முதலமைச்சராக தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டார்.

1998ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் 2001ஆம் ஆண்டு வரை முதலமைச்சர் பொறுப்பில் தொடர்ந்த இவர், உடல் நலக்குறைவு காரணமாக பதவியை ராஜினாமா செய்தார். இவர் ராஜினாமாவுக்குப் பின்னர்தான் குஜராத் மாநில முதலமைச்சராக நரேந்திர மோடி தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டார்.

2012ஆம் ஆண்டு பாஜகவிலிருந்து விலகி குஜராத் பரிவர்த்தன் கட்சியை தொடங்கிய இவர், விசாவதார் தொகுதியில் போட்டியிட்டு வெற்றிபெற்றார். 2014ஆம் ஆண்டு உடல் நலக்குறைவால் எம்.எல்.ஏ. பதவியை ராஜினாமா விட்டார். நீண்ட காலமாக மருத்துவ சிகிச்சையில் இருந்த நிலையில், சிகிச்சை பலனின்றி இன்று காலமானார்.

இதனிடையே, பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி இரங்கல் தெரிவித்து வெளியிட்டுள்ள ட்விட்டர் பதிவில், கேஷுபாய் பட்டேல் மறைவு செய்தி அறிந்ததும் மிகுந்த வேதனை அடைந்தேன். குஜராத் மக்களின் வளர்ச்சிக்காக பாடுபட்டுள்ளார். அவரது மறைவு ஈடுசெய்ய முடியாத இழப்பு. அவருடைய மகன் பாரத்திடம் தொலைபேசி வாயிலாக ஆறுதல் தெரிவித்தேன். ஓம் சாந்தி” என பதிவிட்டுள்ளார்.
