12 ବର୍ଷ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଯେତେବେଳେ ଟିମ ଇଣ୍ଡିଆ ଅଷ୍ଟ୍ରେଲିଆ ଗସ୍ତ କରିଥିଲା, ଯାହା ବିଶ୍ବର ସବୁଠାରୁ ଦ୍ରୁତ ପିଚ ଥିଲା ଓ ଟିମ ଇଣ୍ଡିଆ 4 ଜଣ ଦ୍ରୁତ ବୋଲରଙ୍କ ସହ ପଡିଆକୁ ଓହ୍ଲାଇଥିଲା । ସେହି ଟିମରେ ଈଶାନ୍ତ ମଧ୍ୟ ଥିଲେ ଓ ନିଜର ଚମତ୍କାର ବୋଲିଂରେ ସେ ବିଶ୍ବର ସବୁଠାରୁ ଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ ବ୍ୟାଟ୍ସମ୍ୟାନ ରିକି ପଣ୍ଟିଂଙ୍କୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ହଇରାଣ କରି ଦେଇଥିଲେ । ଈଶାନ୍ତ ପର୍ଥ ପିଚରେ 145 କିମି ପ୍ରତି ଘଣ୍ଟା ବେଗରେ ବୋଲିଂ କରିଥିଲେ । ପାଠ ପଢ଼ାରେ ଦଶମ ପାସ କରି ନଥିଲେ ବି ରିକି ପଣ୍ଟିଂଙ୍କୁ ପିଚରେ କ୍ରିକେଟର ପାଠ ପଢ଼ାଇଥିଲେ ଈଶାନ୍ତ । ସ୍ବିଙ୍ଗ ସହ ନିଜ ବାଉନ୍ସର ବୋଲିଂ ଦ୍ବାରା ପଣ୍ଟିଂଙ୍କୁ ବ୍ୟାକଫୁଟକୁ ପଠାଇ ଦେଇଥିଲେ ସେ । ଈଶାନ୍ତଙ୍କ ଆଗରେ ପଣ୍ଟିଂଙ୍କ ବ୍ୟାଟିଂ ହାର ମାନିଲା ଓ ସେ ପାଭିଲିୟନ ଫେରି ଯାଇଥିଲେ । ସୂଚନାଯୋଗ୍ୟ ଯେ ଈଶାନ୍ତ ନିଜ କ୍ୟାରିଅରରେ ପଣ୍ଟିଂଙ୍କୁ 8 ଥର ଆଉଟ କରିଛନ୍ତି ।
