1983 मध्ये रॉबिनसन यांनी लिव्हरपूल संघात प्रवेश केला. सलग तिसर्‍या वर्षी लिव्हरपूलला पहिल्या विभागाचे जेतेपद जिंकून देण्यात त्यांचा मोठा वाटा होता. 1984 मध्ये लिव्हरपूलचा खेळाडू म्हणून त्यांनी युरोपियन चषक, इंग्लिश लीग आणि लीग कपचे जेतेपद जिंकले आहे. आयर्लंडच्या रिपब्लिकसाठीही त्यांनी 24 सामने जिंकले आहेत.
