Nepal Cricket Team : नेपाळनं आशिया पात्रता स्पर्धेच्या उपांत्य फेरीत यूएईचा पराभव करत पुढील वर्षी होणाऱ्या टी २० विश्वचषकात आपली जागा निश्चित केली. नेपाळचा संघ दहा वर्षांनंतर टी २० विश्वचषकासाठी पात्र ठरलाय.

नवी दिल्ली Nepal Cricket Team : नेपाळ क्रिकेट संघानं आयसीसी टी २० विश्वचषक २०२४ साठी पात्रता मिळवली आहे. नेपाळनं तुलनेनं त्यांच्यापेक्षा वरचढ यूएई संघाचा पराभव करत पुढील वर्षी अमेरिका आणि वेस्ट इंडिजमध्ये होणाऱ्या टी २० विश्वचषकात स्थान मिळवलं. शुक्रवारी आशिया पात्रता स्पर्धेच्या उपांत्य फेरीत नेपाळनं यूएईचा ८ गडी राखून पराभव करत आपली जागा निश्चित केली.

यूएईची प्रथम फलंदाजी : या सामन्यात यूएईनं नाणेफेक जिंकून प्रथम फलंदाजी करण्याचा निर्णय घेतला. त्यांनी २० षटकात ९ गडी गमावून १३४ धावा केल्या. यूएईकडून यष्टिरक्षक फलंदाज अरविंदनं ५१ चेंडूत सर्वाधिक ६४ धावांची खेळी केली. या खेळीत त्यानं ८ चौकार आणि २ षटकार ठोकले. त्याच्याशिवाय सलामीवीर फलंदाज आणि कर्णधार महंमद वसीमनं १६ चेंडूत २६ धावांची खेळी केली. या दोघांशिवाय यूएईच्या एकाही फलंदाजाला २० धावांचा आकडा गाठता आला नाही. नेपाळकडून कुशल मल्लाने ३ तर संदीप लामिचानेनं २ बळी घेतले.

नेपाळनं सहज लक्ष्य गाठलं : यूएईनं दिलेलं १३५ धावांचं लक्ष्य नेपाळनं १७.१ षटकात २ गडी गमावून सहज गाठलं. नेपाळकडून आसिफ शेखनं सर्वाधिक धावा केल्या. त्यानं ५१ चेंडूत ६४ धावांची खेळी केली. त्याच्याशिवाय गुलसन झा यानं २२ धावांची नाबाद खेळी खेळली. तर कर्णधार रोहित पौडेलनं ३४ धावांची नाबाद खेळी खेळून संघाला विजय मिळवून दिला. आसिफ शेखला सामनावीर पुरस्कारानं गौरवण्यात आलं.

ओमानही विश्वचषकासाठी पात्र : या विजयासह नेपाळनं पुढील वर्षी वेस्ट इंडिज आणि अमेरिकेत होणाऱ्या टी २० विश्वचषकासाठी पात्रता मिळवली. नेपाळ क्रिकेटसाठी ही एक मोठी उपलब्धी आहे. नेपाळ व्यतिरिक्त ओमानही या स्पर्धेसाठी पात्र ठरलाय. त्यांनी आशिया पात्रता स्पर्धेच्या पहिल्या उपांत्य फेरीत बहरीनचा १० गडी राखून पराभव केला होता. या आधी नेपाळ २०१४ च्या टी २० वर्ल्ड कपसाठी पात्र ठरला होता. त्यानंतर आता दहा वर्षांनंतर नेपाळचा संघ पुन्हा एकदा टी २० विश्वचषकासाठी पात्र ठरलाय.
