कोलंबो - टी-20 आंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेटमध्ये सर्वाधिक गडी घेणारा श्रीलंकेचा स्टार गोलंदाज लसिथ मलिंगाने आज क्रिकेटच्या सर्व प्रकारातून निवृत्ती घोषणा केली. मलिंगाने याआधीच कसोटी आणि एकदिवसीय क्रिकेटमधून निवृत्ती जाहीर केलेली होती. त्याने आता टी-20 मधून निवृत्तीची घोषणा सोशल मीडियाच्या माध्यमातून केली.

मागील 17 वर्षात मी जो अनुभव मिळवला. आता मैदानात त्याची गरज नाही. कारण मी क्रिकेटच्या सर्व प्रकारातून निवृत्तीचा निर्णय घेतला आहे. पण मी युवा खेळाडूंना समर्थन आणि मार्गदर्शन करत राहिन, असे देखील लसिथ मलिंगाने म्हटलं आहे.
आंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेटमध्ये पाच वेळा हॅट्ट्रिक विकेट घेणारा लसिथ मलिंगा टी-20 आंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेटमध्ये सर्वाधिक गडी बाद करणारा गोलंदाज आहे. त्याने या फॉरमॅटमध्ये 107 गडी बाद केले आहेत. 37 वर्षीय लसिथ मलिंगाच्या नावे आयपीएलमध्ये 170 विकेट आहेत. त्याने आपला अखेरचा टी-20 आंतरराष्ट्रीय सामना याच वर्षी मार्च महिन्यात वेस्ट इंडिज विरुद्ध खेळला होता.
