मुंबई - शहरात आज रात्री अचानक गॅस गळती झाल्याचे निदर्शनास आले. मुख्य शहर व उपनगरातील अनेक ठिकाणांहून अग्निशमन दलाकडे गॅस गळतीच्या तक्रारी येत आहेत. याबाबत मुंबई अग्निशमन दलासह सर्व गॅस कंपन्यांना सतर्कतेचा इशारा देण्यात आला आहे. गॅस गळती नेमकी कुठे झाली याचा शोध अद्याप लागलेला नसून, नागरिकांमध्ये मात्र भीतीचं वातावरण आहे.

चेंबूर, मानखुर्द, गोवंडी, चांदीवाली, पवई, घाटकोपर, अंधेरी, बोरिवली नॅशनल पार्क आदी परिसरातील हवेत गॅसचा दुर्गंध येऊ लागल्याने नागरिकांनी मुंबई पोलीस तसेच अग्निशमन दलाकडे तक्रार केली. त्यानुसार अग्निशमन दलाच्या नऊ गाड्या विविध ठिकाणी पाठवून माहिती घेण्यात येत आहे. गॅस गळती झाल्याने महानगर गॅस तसेच इतर गॅस कंपन्यांना सावधानतेचा इशारा देण्यात आला आहे.

हवेमध्ये गॅसचा दुर्गंध पसरल्याने महाराष्ट्र प्रदूषण मंडळालाही यामागील करण शोधण्याचे आदेश देण्यात आले असून, या गळतीमुळे अद्याप कोणालाही त्रास झाला नसल्याची माहिती पालिकेच्या आपत्कालीन व्यवस्थापन विभागाकडून देण्यात येत आहे.

सुरुवातीला महानगर गॅस लिमिटेड कंपनीत हा प्रकार घडल्याची माहिती समोर आली.
यानंतर, 'आम्हाला गॅस गळतीच्या तक्रारीचे अनेक फोन रात्री यायला लागले'. आमची आपत्कालीन टीम याबाबत अधिक माहिती मिळवत असल्याचे महानगर गॅस लिमिटेड कंपनीकडून सांगण्यात आले. तसेच तक्रारींचे फोन आलेल्या सर्व भागात आमच्या टीम सक्रिय झाल्या असून, अद्याप कोणत्याही पाईपलाईनमध्ये गळती असल्याचे निष्पन्न झाले नाही, असे महानगर गॅस लिमिटेड कंपनीने स्पष्टीकरण दिले आहे.
