'हिंदी' राजकारणामुळेच कित्येक दाक्षिणात्य नेते पंतप्रधानपदाला मुकले - कुमारस्वामी

माझी बहीण कनिमोळी यांच्या अपमानाविरोधात मी बोलत आहे. अनेक हिंदी नेत्यांमुळे यापूर्वीही कित्येक दाक्षिणात्य नेत्यांच्या संधी गेल्या आहेत. तसेच, दक्षिणेकडील कित्येक नेते पंतप्रधान होऊ शकले असते, मात्र केवळ हिंदी राजकारणामुळे त्यांना ती संधी मिळाली नाही, असे कुमारस्वामी यांनी ट्विट करत म्हटले.

बंगळुरू - द्रमुक खासदार कनिमोळी यांच्या समर्थनार्थ पुढे येत, कर्नाटकचे माजी मुख्यमंत्री एच. डी. कुमारस्वामी यांनीही 'हिंदी' राजकारणावर टीका केली आहे. ते म्हणाले, की अशा प्रकारच्या राजकारणामुळे कित्येक दाक्षिणात्य नेत्यांच्या संधी हिसकावल्या गेल्या.

द्रमुक खासदार कनिमोळी यांनी आपल्यासोबत चेन्नई विमानतळावर झालेल्या प्रसंग ट्विट केला होता. तुम्हाला हिंदी येत नाही, मग तुम्ही भारतीय तरी आहात का? असे त्यांना विचारले गेले होते. यानंतर कित्येक दाक्षिणात्य नेत्यांनी कनिमोळींच्या समर्थनार्थ पुढे येत आपापली मते मांडली होती. आता कुमारस्वामींनीही कनिमोळी यांचे समर्थन केले आहे.

• Hindi politics has prevented many South Indians from becoming PM- @H_D_Devegowda, Karunanidhi and Kamaraj are prominent. Though Deve Gowda was successful in breaking into this barrier, there were several incidents of him being criticised and ridiculed for reasons of language.

माझे वडील एच. डी. देवेगौडा याला अपवाद ठरले असले, तरी त्यांना वेळोवेळी आपल्या भाषेवरुन टीकेला सामोरे जावे लागले. स्वातंत्र्यदिनाचे भाषण हिंदीमध्ये करण्यासाठीही त्यांच्यावर दबाव आणण्यात आला होता. केवळ बिहार आणि उत्तरप्रदेशमधील शेतकऱ्यांसाठी म्हणून देवेगौडांनी हिंदीमध्ये भाषण करण्यास अनुमती दिली, असेही कुमारस्वामी म्हणाले.

केवळ राजकारणातच नव्हे, तर ठिकठिकाणी दाक्षिणात्य लोकांसोबत भेदभाव केला जातो आहे. कित्येक सरकारी आणि खासगी परीक्षा या केवळ हिंदी आणि इंग्रजीमध्ये उपलब्ध असतात. केंद्र सरकार केवळ हिंदी भाषेच्या प्रसारासाठी करोडो रुपये खर्च करताना दिसत आहे, असेही ते म्हणाले.
