മുംബൈയിലെ അരേ കോളനിയില്‍ മെട്രോ റെയില്‍ കോര്‍പറേഷൻ ലിമിറ്റഡിന്‍റെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ വ്യാപകമായി മരങ്ങള്‍ മുറിക്കുന്നതിനെതിരെ രൂക്ഷമായി പ്രതികരിച്ച് സിനിമ താരങ്ങളും. സാമൂഹ്യമാധ്യമത്തിലൂടെയാണ് താരങ്ങള്‍ പ്രതികരണവുമായി രംഗത്ത് എത്തിയത്.
മരങ്ങള്‍ മുറിക്കുന്നത് തെറ്റാണെന്ന് അറിയുന്നവര്‍ പോലും അത് ചെയ്യുന്നത് അപലനീയമാണെന്ന് നടനും സംവിധായകനുമായ ഫര്‍ഹാൻ അക്തര്‍ പറയുന്നു. കാര്‍ പാര്‍ക്കിങ് ഷെഡ്ഡിനായി മുംബൈ മെട്രോ റെയില്‍ കോര്‍പറേഷന്‍ ലിമിറ്റഡ് വ്യാപകമായി മരങ്ങള്‍ മുറിക്കുന്നതിനെതിരെ പരിസ്ഥിതി പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ രംഗത്ത് എത്തിയിരുന്നു. പുലര്‍ച്ചെയാണ് ആരേ കോളനിയില്‍ മരം മുറിക്കുന്നത് സംഘടനകള്‍ തടയാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചത്. കാര്‍ പാര്‍ക്കിങിനായി ഏകദേശം 2000ത്തോളം മരങ്ങള്‍ മുറിക്കേണ്ടി വരുമെന്നാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്. മരങ്ങള്‍ മുറിക്കുന്നതിനെതിരെ പരിസ്ഥിതി സംഘടനകള്‍ ബോംബെ ഹൈക്കോടതിയില്‍ നല്‍കിയ ഹര്‍ജി തള്ളിയതിന് തൊട്ടുപിന്നാലെയാണ് അധികൃതര്‍ മരംമുറിച്ചത്.
