ന്യൂഡല്‍ഹി: മുന്‍ ധനമന്ത്രി പി ചിദംബരത്തെ കാണാന്‍ കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് അധ്യക്ഷ സോണിയാ ഗാന്ധിയും മുന്‍ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി മന്‍മോഹന്‍ സിംങും ഇന്ന് രാവിലെ തീഹാര്‍ ജയിലിലെത്തി. ഐഎന്‍എക്സ് മീഡിയ അഴിമതി കേസില്‍ ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 21നാണ് ചിദംബരത്തെ സിബിഐ അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തത്.
ചിദംബരത്തെ കാണാന്‍ മകന്‍ കാര്‍ത്തി ചിദംബരവും എത്തിയിരുന്നു. സോണിയാ ഗാന്ധിക്കും മന്‍മോഹന്‍ സിങിനും നന്ദി അറിയിക്കുന്നതായി ചിദംബരം ട്വീറ്റ് ചെയ്തു. ഇരുവരുടേയും സന്ദര്‍ശനം രാഷ്ട്രീയ പോരാട്ടത്തില്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ ആത്മവിശ്വാസം നല്‍കുമെന്ന് കാര്‍ത്തി ചിദംബരം അറിയിച്ചു. ചിദംബരത്തിന്‍റെ കസ്റ്റഡി കാലാവധി ഡല്‍ഹി കോടതി ഒക്ടോബര്‍ മൂന്ന് വരെ നീട്ടിയിരുന്നു

ഒന്നാം യുപിഎ സർക്കാരിൽ ചിദംബരം ധനമന്ത്രിയായിരിക്കെ സ്റ്റാർ ഇന്ത്യ മുൻ സിഇഒ പീറ്റർ മുഖർജി, ഭാര്യ ഇന്ദ്രാണി മുഖർജി എന്നിവരുടെ കമ്പനിയായ ഐഎൻഎക്‌സ് മീഡിയക്ക് വഴിവിട്ടു വിദേശ നിക്ഷേപം സ്വീകരിക്കാൻ അനുമതി ലഭിച്ചതിൽ ക്രമക്കേടുണ്ടെന്നാണ് കേസ്. 2017 മേയ് 15നാണ് സിബിഐ കേസെടുത്തത്. കള്ളപ്പണം വെളുപ്പിച്ചതായി ആരോപിച്ച് കഴിഞ്ഞ വർഷം എൻഫോഴ്സ്മെന്‍റ് ഡയറക്‌ടറേറ്റും കേസെടുത്തിരുന്നു.
