മുൻ ഗവർണറും ഡല്‍ഹി പൊലീസ് മേധാവിയുമായിരുന്ന വേദ് മർവ അന്തരിച്ചു

മണിപ്പൂർ, ജാർഖണ്ഡ്, മിസോറം സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളുടെ ഗവർണറായി മർവ സേവനമനുഷ്‌ടിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

ന്യൂഡല്‍ഹി: ഡല്‍ഹി പൊലീസ് മുൻ മേധാവിയും വിവിധ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലെ ഗവർണറുമായിരുന്ന വേദ് മർവ അന്തരിച്ചു. 87 വയസായിരുന്നു. ഗോവയില്‍ വച്ചായിരുന്നു മരണം. വാർധക്യസഹജ രോഗങ്ങളെ തുടർന്ന് കഴിഞ്ഞ പത്ത് ദിവസമായി അദ്ദേഹം ആശുപത്രിയിലായിരുന്നു.

1985 മുതല്‍ 1988 വരെയാണ് മർവ ഡല്‍ഹി പൊലീസ് മേധാവി ആയിരുന്നത്. മണിപ്പൂർ, ജാർഖണ്ഡ്, മിസോറം സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളുടെ ഗവർണറായും, 1988 മുതല്‍ 1990 വരെ എൻഎസ്‌ജിയുടെ ഡയറക്‌ടർ ജനറലായും അദ്ദേഹം സേവനമനുഷ്‌ടിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

പാകിസ്ഥാനിലെ പെഷാവറില്‍ നിന്നും സ്വാതന്ത്രത്തോടെ ഇന്ത്യയിലേക്ക് മാറുകയായിരുന്നു മർവയുടെ കുടുംബം. കേന്ദ്രഭരണ പ്രദേശത്ത് നിന്ന് ഡല്‍ഹി പൊലീസ് മേധാവിയായ ആദ്യ ഐപിഎസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥനായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം. 1999 മുതല്‍ 2004 കാലഘട്ടത്തിലാണ് മണിപ്പൂർ, മിസോറാം. ജാർഖണ്ഡ് സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളുടെ ഗവർണറായി അദ്ദേഹം സേവനമനുഷ്‌ടിച്ചത്.
