ചണ്ഡീഗഡ്: ദേര സച്ച സൗദ തലവന്‍ ഗുര്‍മീത് റാം റഹീം സിങിന്‍റെ പരോളിനുള്ള അപേക്ഷ പഞ്ചാബ് - ഹരിയാന ഹൈക്കോടതി നിഷേധിച്ചു. ബലാല്‍സംഗം, ലൈഗിക അതിക്രമം എന്നീ കേസുകളില്‍ പ്രതിയായി റോഹ്തഗ് ജയിലില്‍ കഴിയുകയാണ് ഗുര്‍മീത്. ഗുര്‍മീതിന്‍റെ ഭാര്യയായ ഹര്‍ജിത് കൗറാണ് പരോളിനായി അപേക്ഷിച്ചത്.
രോഗബാധിതയായി കഴിയുന്ന ഗുര്‍മീതിന്‍റെ അമ്മയെ സന്ദര്‍ശിക്കാന്‍ അവസരമൊരുക്കണമെന്നാവശ്യപ്പെട്ടായിരുന്നു അപേക്ഷ. രണ്ട് അനുയായികളെ പീഡിപ്പിച്ച കേസില്‍ ഗുര്‍മീതിന് 20 വര്‍ഷത്തെ കഠിന തടവ് വിധിച്ചത് 2017 ഓഗസ്റ്റിലായിരുന്നു. ദേര ആസ്‌ഥാനത്തെ ലൈഗിംകാതിക്രമം പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടുവന്ന പത്രപ്രവര്‍ത്തകനെ കൊലപ്പെടുത്തിയ കേസിലും ഗുര്‍മീത് പ്രതിയെന്ന് പഞ്ച്ഗുലയിലെ പ്രത്യേക സി ബി ഐ കോടതി കണ്ടെത്തിയിരുന്നു.
കഴിഞ്ഞ ജൂണില്‍ ഹരിയാനയിലെ തന്‍റെ കൃഷി ഫാമുകളില്‍ വിളവിറക്കുന്നതിനായി പരോളനുവദിക്കണമെന്ന് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടുകൊണ്ട് ഗുര്‍മീത് അപേക്ഷിച്ചിരുന്നു.എന്നാല്‍ പിന്നീട് അപേക്ഷ പിന്‍വലിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

Srinagar: The Srinagar district administration on Tuesday opened much awaited airline ticket booking counters at city's Tourist Reception Centre (TRC). The counters have been set up in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department and the Airports Authority of India.
"People of the Valley have been facing lot of problems in booking tickets at the Srinagar airport but now with the district administration has taken an initiative to add their daily suffering, " Nissar Ahmad Wani, Director Jammu and Kashmir Tourism said.
He said that the city administration has setup tickets booking centre in collaboration with Airports Authority of India and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has provided all required technical support, including internet lease line.
"Presently, we have setup six counters and all of them are being managed by the representatives of the airlines operating from Srinagar. We are also in talks with Valley's top travel agents and their counters will also be set up here," he said, adding that they are receiving healthy response from the general public.
Locals, lined up at the ticket booking centre, opined that the "it is the right step in right direction but little too late."
"Besides other hardships, for the people of Kashmir booking an airline ticket was just like making a mare drink the water. We had to go directly to the airport for tickets and you know the kind of frisking a common citizen had to face at the airport. This is much needed relief," a local said.
Another local who had come all the way from a village in South Kashmir said that this step from the administration must be appreciated.
"The administration should also add railway ticket booking facility too at the centre because the trains are much cheaper as compared to flights."
He also said that at this centre there is more transparency than the airport and under the supervision of administration things will be better hopefully.
"Better late than never," he said on being asked whether you are satisfied with the initiative.
From past 23 days, the Kashmir valley has been cut off from the outside world due to the total clampdown on every mode of communication by the Jammu and Kashmir. Owing to communication breakdown, the people of Kashmir became the first causality of the prevailing situation.
