ಕೇವಲ ಬೌಂಡರಿಗಳ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿಶ್ವಕಪ್​ನಂತಹ ಮಹಾನ್​ ಟೂರ್ನಮೆಂಟ್​ನ ವಿಜೇತರನ್ನು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸುವುದು ಹಾಸ್ಯಸ್ಪದ ಎಂದು ಭಾರತದ ಮಾಜಿ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟಿಗ ಗೌತಮ್​ ಗಂಭಿರ್​ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.​

ಲಂಡನ್: ಕೇವಲ ಬೌಂಡರಿಗಳ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿಶ್ವಕಪ್​ನಂತಹ ಮಹಾನ್​ ಟೂರ್ನಮೆಂಟ್​ನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಜೇತರನ್ನು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್​ ವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವು ಹಾಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾಜಿ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟಿಗರಿಂದ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗಿದೆ.

ನಿನ್ನೆ ವಿಶ್ವಕಪ್​ನ ಫೈನಲ್​ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಿವೀಸ್​ ಹಾಗೂ ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡ್​ ನಡುವಿನ ಪಂದ್ಯ ಟೈನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತ್ಯಗೊಂಡಿತ್ತು. ವಿಜೇತರಿಗಾಗಿ ಟಿ-20 ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅನುಸರಿಸುವ ಸೂಪರ್​ ಓವರ್​ ಆಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಆದರೆ, ಸೂಪರ್​ ಓವರ್​ನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಟೈ ಆಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಬೌಂಡರಿಗಳಿಸಿದ ತಂಡವನ್ನು ವಿಜೇತ ಎಂದು ಘೋಷಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಆದರೆ, ಈ ನಿಯಮವನ್ನು ಇಡೀ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್​ ಲೋಕವೇ ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ನೋಡಿದ್ದು, ಹಲವು ಮಾಜಿ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟಿಗರು ಐಸಿಸಿ ನಿಯಮದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕಿಡಿಕಾರಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಮೊದಲು ಬ್ಯಾಟಿಂಗ್​ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದ ಕಿವೀಸ್​ ತನ್ನ ಇನ್ನಿಂಗ್ಸ್​ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂಪರ್​ ಓವರ್​ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ 17 ಬೌಂಡರಿಗಳಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಇತ್ತ ಚೇಸಿಂಗ್​ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದ ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡ್​ ಸೂಪರ್ ಓವರ್​ ಸೇರದಂತೆ 26 ಬೌಂಡರಿ ಸಿಡಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಇದರ ಆದಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡ್​ ಮೇಲುಗೈ ಸಾಧಿಸಿ ವಿಶ್ವಕಪ್​ ತನ್ನದಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿತು.

ಆದರೆ, ಈ ನಿಯಮವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿರುವ ಭಾರತದ ಮಾಜಿ ಆಟಗಾರ ಗೌತಮ್​ ಗಂಭೀರ್​" ವಿಜೇತರನ್ನು ಘೋಷಿಸಲು ಐಸಿಸಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಬೌಂಡರಿ ಬಾರಿಸಿದ ವಿಧಾನವನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿದ್ದು ನನಗೆ ಅರ್ಥವಾಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದೊಂದು ಹಾಸ್ಯಸ್ಪದ ನಿಯಮ. ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಎರಡು ತಂಡಗಳೂ ಚಾಂಪಿಯನ್ನ ಎಂದು ಟ್ವೀಟ್​ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬ ಮಾಜಿ ಆಟಗಾರ ಕೈಫ್​" ಐಸಿಸಿಯ ಬೌಂಡರಿ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರದಿಂದ ವಿಜೇತರನ್ನು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡುವ ನಿಯಮವನ್ನು ಅರಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಕಷ್ಟವಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಸೂಪರ್​ ಓವರ್​ ಅನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸುವುದು ಉತ್ತಮ ಪರಿಹಾರ. ವಿಜೇತರನ್ನು ಘೋಷಿಸುವುದು ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯ. ಅದರೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಬೌಂಡರಿಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ವಿಜೇತರನ್ನು ಘೋಷಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದೇ ಉತ್ತಮ" ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಆಸ್ಟ್ರೇಲಿಯಾದ ಮಾಜಿ ಬೌಲರ್​ ಬ್ರೆಟ್​ ಲೀ ಕೂಡ ಈ ನಿಯಮವನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದರೆ, ಆಸ್ಟ್ರೇಲಿಯಾದ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತ ಬ್ರಿಡಾನ್​ ಕವರ್​ಡೇಲ್​ ಬೌಂಡರಿ ಮೂಲಕ ವಿಜೇತರನ್ನು ಘೋಷಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇದೇನು ಬ್ಯಾಟ್ಸ್​ಮನ್​ಗಳ ಆಟವೇ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

• The DL system is actually based on runs and wickets lost... yet the Final result is only based on Boundaries hit? Not fair in my opinion. Must have been great to watch!

• Difficult to digest this more boundary rule. Something like sudden death- continuous super overs till a result is a better solution. Understand, wanting a definite winner but sharing a trophy is better than deciding on more boundaries. Very tough on New Zealand. #EngVsNZ
