કારગિલ વિજય દિવસ પર ખેલ જગતે શહીદોને અર્પી શ્રદ્ધાંજલિ

વિજય દિવસના અવસરે ખેલ જગતે કારગિલ યુદ્ધમાં શહીદ થયેલા ભારતીય સેનાના જવાનોને યાદ કર્યા હતા.

હૈદરાબાદઃ કારગિલ વિજય દિવસની 21મી વર્ષગાંઠ પર આજે સમગ્ર દેશ શહીદોને નમન કરી રહ્યો છે. કારગિલ યુદ્ધ, જેને ઑપરેશન વિજયના નામથી પણ ઓળખાય છે. ભારત અને પાકિસ્તાનની વચ્ચે મે-જુલાઈ 1999 વચ્ચે કાશ્મીરના કારગિલ ક્ષેત્રમાં થયેલા સશસ્ત્ર સંઘર્ષનું નામ છે.

પાકિસ્તાની સેનાએ નિયંત્રણ રેખા પાર કરીને ભારતની જમીન પર કબ્જો કરવાનો પ્રયાસ કર્યો હતો. જો કે, ભારતીય સેનાએ પાકિસ્તાનના નાપાક ઇરાદાને ધ્વસ્ત કરતા તેને પાછળ જવા મજબૂર કર્યા હતા. આ યુદ્ધમાં ભારતીય સેનાના કેટલાય જવાનોએ પોતાનો જીવ ગુમાવ્યો હતો.
