"I'm so excited to release my record. It's been gosh, it'll be two years in the making as of I think May. That's when I first started working on it in 2017. So it's, it's crazy. A lot of life has happened during the making of it. I wrote about a lot of personal things and I have some friends singing on it. I've got Shay Mooney from Dan + Shay singing background vocals on the single 'If My Heart a heart' and Lauren Alaina, Lindsay Ell, RaeLynn, singing on a track called 'Distracted.' So I tried to include my friends on it and, yeah. I'm excited."

"Yeah I, I went through a pretty big breakup where I was with the same person for seven and a half years, so that was a huge life change for me that I got to write about. It was very therapeutic. And then I actually split from my record label too around the same time, also publishing and management and my lawyer. Like everything changed. So it was a very difficult time but it was really, it was a great outlet to be able to write about it and get in the studio. It was something that I really appreciated at the time and now looking back listening to the record it's, it's such a story. You know, there's ups and downs and it's kind of messy like life. So I'm really glad that I captured that in the moment."

"Looking back on the moments, I can look back on them and not get really emotional. I can look back and know 'God, that was really hard' but also be able to look at it and be like, 'I'm so glad that I had those experiences' because I've just always looked at anything negative that's happened to me and looked at them, you know, in a grateful way, like I appreciate them because I can now appreciate this amazing place I'm in even more and I've also just looked at things, you know, that haven't been very great and been like, 'OK, if that hadn't happened would I be here, would I have met that person or that person?' And I always come to the conclusion that it all happens for a reason, so I can take comfort in the hard times now."

"I'm so excited. Yeah. I love playing live. I love going on tour and I'm especially excited to play the new stuff live. But I get to tour with all my friends so I'm going out with Maren Morris on her "GIRL: WORLD TOUR." I'm going out with the Hannah Ellis who actually co-wrote 'If My Heart had a Heart' and Claire Dunne on the CMT Next Women of Country tour so I'm getting to tour with these women who have a lot to say and, you know, they're bad asses so we're all going to go out and spread the love and the message that, you know, we're powerful and we can make things happen for ourselves. So that'll be fun.

"I think in music and just in life in general the MeToo movement is definitely prevalent. It's unfortunate but I think, you know, we've all experienced something on a certain level whether it's, you know, something that has really affected us or just like 'Oh, that was weird.' But yeah I mean I think it's it's really good that the conversation is the loudest it's ever been. I think it's making it harder for people to get away with things which is great. And, you know, I'm, I'm definitely on the luckier side as far as not having had some awful experiences like that. But yeah, I hope to sort of be a soundboard for the women and men that have experienced that and going on these all female tours this year kind of - for me - proves that we're making progress and we're being heard and I think that's half of the battle really."

STORYLINE:
CASSADEE POPE CHANNELS BREAK UPS AND HEARTACHE ON HER NEW RECORD 'STAGES,' TALKS METOO IN COUNTRY
Suffering heartache, Cassadee Pope headed to the studio to channel her emotions into new music.
"STAGES" documents the hardships experienced in Pope's personal and professional life, as she split from her long-term partner, record label and management team.
"It was a very difficult time," recalled Pope, adding, "it was really it was a great outlet to be able to write about it and get in the studio. It was something that I am I really appreciated at the time and now looking back listening to the record it's it's such a story."
Pope has been working on "STAGES" for nearly two years, with tracks "Take You Home" and "One More Red Light" launching the album - which features some of Pope's musical friends.

After the release of the record, Pope is hitting the road, joining Maren Morris on her "GIRL: THE WORLD TOUR" for dates across the U.S. in March. Pope is also joining the lineup of CMT's Next Women of Country tour which features Hannah Ellis and Claire Dunne - two "bad asses."
"We're all going to go out and spread the love and the message that, you know, we're powerful and we can make things happen for ourselves so that'll be fun," she said.
"STAGES" is released on February 1.
