STORYLINE:
Pakistan's military has released a video which it claims to be of an Indian pilot who was captured after his plane was shot down by Pakistan's air force in the country's part of Kashmir.
In the video, the man said to be the captured pilot can be seen praising Pakistan Army for treating him well in custody and rescuing him from a mob which reportedly spotted and caught him as troops launched a search for him.
India said it expects an immediate and safe return of its air force pilot that Pakistan claims to have in its custody.
Earlier, Pakistan's prime minister Imran Khan extended an offer to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for talks to de-escalate rising tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
Khan said that war benefits neither nation and that he hoped "better sense can prevail".
