କଂଗ୍ରେସ ପ୍ରସ୍ତାବିତ ମିଳିତ ବିରୋଧୀଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥୀ ମାର୍ଗରେଟ ଅଲଭାଙ୍କୁ ପରାଜିତ କରି ଉପ ରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରପତି ଭାବେ ନିର୍ବାଚିତ ହୋଇଥିବା NDA ପ୍ରାର୍ଥୀ ଧନଖର, 72.8 ପ୍ରତିଶତ ସହ ମୋଟ 528 ଖଣ୍ଡ ଭୋଟ ହାସଲ କରିଛନ୍ତି । ସେହିପରି ତାଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିପକ୍ଷ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥୀ ମାର୍ଗରେଟ ଅଲଭାଙ୍କୁ ମିଳିଛି 25.1 ପ୍ରତିଶତ ସହ ମାତ୍ର ୧୮୨ ଖଣ୍ଡ ଭୋଟ । ଚଳିତମାସ ୧୦ ତାରିଖରେ ବିଦାୟୀ ଉପ ରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରପତି ଭେଙ୍କେୟା ନାଇଡୁଙ୍କ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକାଳ ଶେଷ ହେଉଛି । ପରଦିନ ଅର୍ଥାତ ୧୧ ତାରିଖରେ ଦେଶର ନୂତନ ତଥା ୧୪ତମ ଉପ ରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରପତି ଭାବେ ଶପଥ ନେବେ ଜଗଦୀପ ଧନଖର ।
