ന്യൂഡല്‍ഹി: പാരീസ് ഒളിമ്പിക്സിൽ മിന്നും പ്രകടനം നടത്തി വെങ്കല മെഡൽ നേടി മടങ്ങിയെത്തിയ ഹോക്കി ടീമിന് എയർപോർട്ടിൽ ഗംഭീര വരവേൽപ്പ്. താരങ്ങളെ മാലചാര്‍ത്തിയും ഡ്രം വായിച്ചും ആരാധകരും സുഹൃത്തുക്കളും സ്വീകരിച്ചു. അതിനിടെ ഹോക്കി ടീമിലെ താരങ്ങള്‍ ഡ്രമ്മിന്‍റെ താളത്തിനൊത്ത് ചുവടുവെച്ചു.

വെങ്കല മെഡൽ മത്സരത്തിൽ സ്പെയിനിനെതിരെ 2-1 ന് ഇന്ത്യ തകർപ്പൻ ജയം നേടി. ഇന്ത്യക്കായി ഹർമൻപ്രീത് സിംഗ് രണ്ട് ഗോളുകൾ നേടി. നാലാം തവണയാണ് ഇന്ത്യ ഒളിമ്പിക്സിൽ വെങ്കലം നേടുന്നത്. കൂടാതെ 8 തവണ ഒളിമ്പിക്സിൽ ഇന്ത്യൻ ഹോക്കി ടീം സ്വർണം നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
