बीजिंग: कोविड-19 साथीच्या चिंतेमुळे 9 ते 15 ऑक्टोबर दरम्यान चीनमधील हांगझोऊ येथे होणार्‍या आशियाई पॅरा गेम्स ( Asian Para Games ) पुढे ढकलण्यात ( Asian Para Games postponed ) आले आहेत. त्याची अधिकृत घोषणा मंगळवारी आयोजकांनी केली आहे.

आशियाई पॅरालिम्पिक समिती ( Asian Paralympic Committee ) ने एका निवेदनात म्हटले आहे की, "हँगझो 2022 आशियाई पॅरा गेम्स आयोजन समिती (HAPGOC) आणि आशियाई पॅरालिम्पिक समितीने आज 2022 आशियाई पॅरा गेम्स पुढे ढकलण्याची घोषणा केली आहे, जे 9 ते 15 ऑक्टोबर 2022 दरम्यान नियोजित वेळेनुसार होणार होत्या." या खेळांचे पुढे ढकलणे जवळपास निश्चित झाले होते. दोन आठवड्यांपूर्वी, 10 ते 25 सप्टेंबर दरम्यान होणार्‍या हँगझो आशियाई क्रीडा स्पर्धाही पुढे ढकलण्यात आल्या होत्या. चीनमध्ये कोविड-19 च्या वाढत्या प्रकरणांमुळे ते 6 मे रोजी अनिश्चित काळासाठी पुढे ढकलण्यात आले.
एपीसी, चीन पॅरालिम्पिक समिती आणि एचएपीजीओसी ( HAPGOC ) च्या प्रतिनिधींचा समावेश असलेले टास्क फोर्स आता 2023 मध्ये या खेळांच्या वेळापत्रकावर काम करेल, असे निवेदनात म्हटले आहे. या संदर्भात पुढील घोषणा नजीकच्या काळात होऊ शकते. खेळाचा लोगो, घोषवाक्य आणि वर्ष बदलणार नाही. या स्पर्धेदरम्यान 22 खेळांमधील 616 पदक स्पर्धांमध्ये चार हजारांहून अधिक खेळाडू सहभागी होण्याची अपेक्षा आहे. एपीसीचे अध्यक्ष माजिद रशीद म्हणाले, "खेळांची तयारी चांगलीच सुरू होती आणि एचएपीजीओसी एक भव्य कार्यक्रम आयोजित करण्यासाठी सज्ज होता.

ते म्हणाले, हा निर्णय घेणे सोपे नव्हते, परंतु आंतरराष्ट्रीय महासंघ, राष्ट्रीय पॅरालिम्पिक समित्या आणि खेळांमध्ये सहभागी होण्याचे नियोजन करणाऱ्या खेळाडूंच्या मनातील अनिश्चितता दूर करण्यासाठी हा निर्णय घ्यावा लागला. आता आम्ही आयोजन समितीसोबत नवीन तारखांवर काम करू, जे पॅरा स्पोर्ट्स कॅलेंडरशी सुसंगत असेल.
