राजेंद्र गोयल मागील दोन वर्षांपासून आजारी होते. त्यांनी रविवारी अखेरचा श्वास घेतला. आज त्यांच्या पार्थिवावर अंत्यसंस्कार करण्यात येणार आहेत.

रोहतक ( हरयाणा ) - भारताचे माजी क्रिकेटपटू राजेंद्र गोयल यांचे रविवारी दीर्घ आजाराने निधन झाले. ते 77 वर्षांचे होते. रणजी क्रिकेटच्या इतिहासात सर्वाधिक गडी बाद करण्याचा मोठा पराक्रम त्यांनी केला होता. त्यांच्या निधनानंतर, क्रिकेट विश्वातून त्यांना श्रद्धांजली देण्यात आली.

गोयल यांची कारकीर्द -

गोयल यांनी रणजी ट्रॉफीच्या इतिहासात सर्वाधिक 637 गडी बाद केले. इतर कोणत्याही खेळाडूला अद्याप 600 चा टप्पा गाठता आलेला नाही. इतकेच नव्हे तर प्रथम श्रेणीत त्यांनी 750 गडी बाद करण्याचा कारनामा केला. पण दुर्दैवाने त्यांना भारतीय संघात स्थान मिळू शकले नाही. गोयल यांनी रणजीच्या एका हंगामात खेळताना, 25 पेक्षा जास्त गडी बाद करण्याचा कारनामा 15 वेळा केला. गोयल यांनी 157 सामने खेळले. 55 धावांत 8 बळी ही त्यांची सर्वोत्तम कामगिरी होती. त्यांनी 59 वेळा एका डावात 5 गडी तर 18 वेळा एका सामन्यात 10 गडी बाद करण्याची किमया साधली.
