देशाबाहेर आमची एकजूटच, पाकिस्तानला एक इंचही जागा देणार नाही - शशी थरूर

'पाकिस्तानने गिलगिट-बाल्टिस्तान आणि पाकव्याप्त काश्मीरचा दर्जा बदलला. त्यांना आमच्या बोट दाखण्याचा अधिकार कुणी दिला?' असा सवाल थरूर यांनी केला.

नवी दिल्ली - 'जम्मू-काश्मीरच्या मुद्द्यावरुन भारत-पाकिस्तानदरम्यान तणाव निर्माण झाला आहे. बिथरलेल्या पाककडून भारताविरोधात वारंवार विषारी वक्तव्ये केली जात आहेत. यावरुन काँग्रेस नेते शशी थरुर यांनी पाकिस्तानला सोमवारी चांगलेच खडे बोल सुनावले. 'देशात आम्ही सरकारच्या विरोधी पक्षात आहोत. मात्र, भारताविरोधात बोलणाऱ्यांना उत्तर देण्यासाठी विरोधक सरकारसोबत आहेत. आम्ही पाकिस्तानला एक इंचही जागा देणार नाही,' असे थरूर म्हणाले.

'जम्मू-काश्मीरविषयीचा निर्णय ही भारताची अंतर्गत बाब आहे. देशात आम्ही विरोधक आहोत. देशात आम्ही सरकारवर कितीही टीका करू. पण, भारताबाहेर आम्ही एक आहोत. आम्ही पाकिस्तानला एक इंचही जागा देणार नाही,' असे ते म्हणाले.

या वेळी, थरूर यांनी काँग्रेस पक्षाचेही कौतुक केले. 'येथे माझे कायमचे करिअर होणार होते म्हणून मी काँग्रेसमध्ये आलो नाही. तर, काँग्रेस पक्ष हा सर्वसमावेशक आणि प्रगतीशील भारतासाठी सर्वाधिक चांगला मंच असल्याचे मला पटले होते म्हणून मी काँग्रेसमध्ये आलो. विचारांसाठीच आम्ही लढा देणार आहोत. जागा आणि मतांसाठी या विचारांचे बलिदान करु शकत नाही,' असे थरूर म्हणाले.
